Financing Zero percent financing

Cash price is ALWAYS lower than financed, even at 0% apr.

I called around to six or seven different dealerships including out of state. I had several dealers ask me if I paid cash instead of financing it I could get a little better price. I never asked what the difference was but what I gathered it was at most $400 or $500bucks and I think part of that was for the paperwork. Other dealers never mentioned it.

I suspect that money is very cheap for companies such as Deere to borrow that I wouldn't expect that cash to be a better deal. Years ago when we had much higher interest rates then cash was king. You may save a few bucks with cash but not much.

0 percent financing isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It was available when I bought by JD and its still available today. The dealer will always try to get you to buy ASAP.

Besides, if JD got rid of there 0 percent then all the other brands would have to do the same which wont happen. Also, tractors hold their value very well. The only thing that made me go new over used was the 0 percent financing on a new one. JD knows this... If the interest rate went up, I would just go to the bank and get a cheaper interest rate there on a used tractor and JD wouldn't make any money. I did the math on both scenarios and you can't beat 0 percent vs a conventional loan.

I would just buy when your ready... The only thing I see changing is maybe a $500 implement bonus or something like that.

I too brought a 5085M for 0% 60 months. Got about 18% off list too, but did pay about 10k down and financed the rest.

Be cautious, as zero percent financing is not always the offer one thinks it is. There are many that offers this kind of loans but there are catch about it.

When I started shopping I went to Kubota. The salesman asked cash or finance (0%), I had him figure it both ways and there was a $1400 difference.

When I went to Deere, I said cash. We haggled the price a little but ended up with just over 18% off MSRP. I then said well, 0% for 60 months sounds good, it was the same price. I bought the tractor.

Yes, that's the way to handle it. Get the best cash price, then get 0%. I've done it several times now through Deere.

But yes, one must make sure they are not paying for the finance option up front.

Only difference between cash and 0% finance on my deal was the $75 application fee and paper work for the 0%. I would rather have the $19k in the bank and use their money for the tractor.

Buying a new 5115M Monday and I also have it priced at about 18% under list price. 0% for 48 same as cash. Started out looking at slightly used machines but the price on them is so close to new price and without the 0% it didnt make sense. Wife even agreed, so you know its a good deal!

Will the 0% deal end 4/30/2014 like some of the ads state or will JD extend it again?
