Over the past 40 years I've owned about 8 different grass mowers and the last two are Zero turn mowers. Without a doubt, if you are going to just mow grass, this is the way to go unless you have a lawn on a hill side. I just bought a new Ferris IS2000 commercial mower because I mow several acres of grass around the house. Some of it is smooth and I can mow so fast, I feel like I need a pair of goggles and a helmet! The rest is bumpy. The suspension does help if you slow down to a reasonable speed. My last zero turn mower cost me $6800 and I used it for 7 years with no issues. It trimmed down my mowing time with a garden tractor from 6 hours to 3 ! (even with a 20% bigger lawn) I traded it in on a new Ferris IS2000 (61 inch deck and 26 HP Kawasaki) and cut my mowing time down to less than 2 hours with a MUCH smoother ride! Unless you try to mow fields, I can't imagine why you would want a bigger engine!
