Zero turn mower lift recommendations

I just use my FEL to lift up my Ferris.

Just a warning. We had one TBN member die (Mike) when he lifted his Z with his FEL and a chain. We really don't know what gave way the FEL, the chain or the connection. Always take the time to put a secondary device under, like a jack stand or blocks, so you won't be killed.

I've been pondering the same thing. I currently have a Harbor Freight mower lift. Works well, but I am tired of getting on my back underneath the deck to change blades and clean the deck. I have been eyeing the Titan fork extensions. My zero turn is 6 1/2 feet long, so I am thinking about getting the 7 footers so I can back the mower onto the fork extensions and then lift it up with the front end loader / forks. I want to come up with a way to securely attach the mower so it can't roll or fall off.

Titan 84" x 5.5" Pallet Fork Extensions for forklifts lift truck forklift

That's what I do... and I'm a paranoid Safety Constable from way back. Mostly because I live/work here alone.

I'll lift the front of my D110 using ropes tied to the FEL (hay forks attached) to just above the height that I want, chock the back wheels, slide enough stacked pallets under the front of the D110 and then gently lower the FEL until the weight is on the pallets.

Pallets aren’t very secure. I’d trust the hydraulics more. When I need to work under a load supported by a forklift I’ll block up the fork carriage, and lower it onto the blocks while leaving the hydraulics tight. That way I have 2 means of support and don’t have the blocks in the way. I was only pressure washing the deck in the picture I posted above and wasn’t actually under the mower. There was no other support in place.

Oh I agree... sorry that I wasn't clear. The FEL + rope are still attached whilst working under the D110 (or Z-turn, in the OP's case).

Yep...his nick was Mikim, a long time TBNer. IIRC, his wife found him under the mower...tragic.
Don't depend on hydraulics...not when you're working under the loader or bucket.

I haven't received it yet (being delivered on Friday, 01 June), but I ordered a MoJack 750 lb. unit (Amazon.com : MoJack MJPRO 75-Pound Lift For Tractors And Zero Turn Lawn Mowers : Lawn Mower Jack Stand : Garden & Outdoor) for working under my Deere Z920. Although the jack may only be used a few times a year, I expect I'll have ZTR mowers for a long time to come

I use the FEL too.
a. I already have a FEL. Save $200+
b. It's fast, and easy. No lifting, cranking, or pumping.
c. I don't need to find a place to store it.

I pick it up with a lifting strap around one of the front legs.

Yes, unless you like living on the edge, you want to put a jack stand under the front of the deck, once it's up.

I've been using my floor jack, but it's not ideal. I've thought about something like the MoJack, but didn't want to spend $300 for it on Amazon. I just googled it and Home Depot has them for $203 I've found some really good prices on the Home Depot website and received free shipping by picking it up at their store. They also have the best prices for UTV accessories. It's not in their store, you just order it online and pick it up when it arrives.
