Zero turn mower only restarts after sitting a couple days

In this position I would service the terminals on the PTO and ignition switches and look real close at the brake switch that it is positioned where it is actuated properly. Some of these have a half a dozen terminals rather than the typical 2 or 4 . That may mean as an example that the paddle switches run through it, though I don't have a schematic in front of me. These type of switches you can squirt in some CRC and move the plunger around. If you can unsnap it, all the better for testing and troubleshooting. It could be helpful to actually have the product number of the frame for the correct build on this. Welcome to the forum and best of luck.

Safety switch. Those gray or black plunger switches

Get tractor electrical diagram and trace start/run path through all safety switches.... As others state a switch is malfunctioning some where along the way.... The two I would look at first is seat switch and neutral safety switch those are most used....

I just replaced the PTO switch on my MZ6128. It's a 3-pole rated a five amps and the center pole engages the PTO. The other two are part of the safety circuit. On the way to frying and dying mine cooked one spade (female actually) in the harness connector, and it had to be replaced. Not saying which switch is failing, only that one can w/o obvious signs unless you look deep. btw, I replaced with a 10 amp version offered for upgrading several brands that use the same. (<$20, choice of button color)

Two possible scenarios I'd look into are the ign switch and the solenoid as possible culprits. My hour meter measures only time the PTO is engaged. Lacking lighting there's no way to tell if power is really 'on' by looking at that. Parking brake must be engaged for starter to respond, another switch to vet. Any one of 'em goes bad, the whole thing will seem dead. Also my MZ is a 'later' model ('15?) with 3100 vs 3400 HG drive motors. A gentle beast I wouldn't trade.

My guess he is not running the blades from the barn to the house. Do have to have the E brake on the start? If so release the E brake and reapply and see if it starts. if it starts then try moving the hydro levers in and back out and check. As for fuel the starter is not turning the engine over.

on my Ariens ZTR it won't start unless the emergency brake is fully engaged. If you have one, try pushing it down and pulling it up a few times and make sure it's engaged. I had a problem where the rod that attaches the brake lever to the mechanism was bent and it was exhibiting symptoms similar to what you said. After the rod was straightened out, no issues.

I have been having a problem restarting my Husqvarna MZ6128 zero turn mower after running it for a few hours. This has been happening for a couple of years now, so I know how to work around it but would like to address to problem . It is a real puzzle to me, and any thoughts would be welcome. Here is what I know:

1) When I finish mowing, or if I have to stop in the middle, my mower will not restart. When I turn the key, I get nothing. No clicks, no engine turn over. Nothing. I have been testing this for a few years after I finish mowing and it is always the same... nothing.
2) After it sits for a a few days, it will start with no problem. My "solution" is to always mow my entire yard (which takes a couple hours) and park it when done. Without fail, it will be fine the next time I need to mow in a week or two.
3) I don't think it is related to heat. I mowed the lawn on Friday afternoon, and tried to start it on Saturday at noon and got nothing. If I wait until Sunday or maybe Monday, it will start with no problem.
4) When it has been sitting long enough to start, I can start and restart it as many times as I want as long as I don't move it (tested this many times over the last few years). However, if I drive a short distance (e.g. from the barn to the house, 75 yards) it will most likely not start again (I don't test this very much since I can't mow for a few days).

Any ideas on what could be causing this? Or other things I should check? I can't think of anything where letting it sit for one day doesn't "fix" the problem, but sitting 2 or 3 days does allow it to start again.
I'm having EXACTLY the same issue with my Husqvarna MZ 52LE.
I've already taken it to the shop and they can't figure out what's causing the failure to start under those circumstances.
PLEASE post the "fix" if you get this problem figured out.
Thanks!

ChrisSl789 seems to be unresponsive. It would be useful to get some feedback on all of the suggestions.

My suggestion was going to be safety switches, like so many others here. I don't have Kubota, but on my JD, after 9 years I found that one of the control arms had a switch that would not detect neutral because of grass build-up in the pivot area. It was just enough to make starting intermittent.

I going to suggest a different avenue on your issue. I've only see it happen once but here goes. What I found to fix this is remove the cooling shrouds and blowing out the cooling fines. This was keeping the engine from cooling during operation. This lead to a heat saturated starter and would not spin. After that no more issues. Someone also mentioned a voltmeter to trace your start circuit. Good luck.
