Which one should I decide on? I am pondering buying the CC2544 series (positive: direct-driveshaft and hitch attachments available) or the Z-force 44 model (versatility and time-cutting)

Cons:
2544- 20 in turning radius ($$3,399.00)
Zforce - cannot haul or attach other accessories ($3,599.00)

WHich should I decide on? I have driven other zero degree mowers and love their mobility and versatility mowing around trees and brush. I have heard they do not do well on areas that are bumpy. WHich is a better bet? 2544 or Z-force 44? I am lost! I use a murray and it is broke like usual. IF I spent as much time mowing my lawn as I did working on my mower, my yard would be awesome! I own only 1 acre but I also mow at our church which is 7 acres. Thank goodness I do not mow all of it though. I would roughly guess 3 acres a week. I cannot go over $4k including tax. I want a mower that will last 10 years or more! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I think this really comes down to two things.

1. Do you really NEED to have the ability to tow objects?
2. Are there any REALY steep hills you have to cut?

If the answer to both of those questions are no then the Z-Force is the obvious winner just due to mowing time. If the answer to either of those questions are yes then I would get the GT2544. Good luck and keep us posted...both machines are wonderful.

I have decided on the zero degree turn mower. I will not need to tow probably. I do mow on a sloped hill probably 30 degree angle but that is it. I looked at the M50-KHS tank and the payment is smaller (0% for 36 months)

Hare's Tractory Company, INC.
Vinemont, AL
1)M50 Tank - $5145.37 / 36 months =$142.93 (starter commerical)
2)Zforce 50 - $4118.97 / 24 months =$171.62 (residential)
3)Zforce 44 - $3706.97 / 24 months =$154.46 (residential)

There is no way I can pay it in 12 months so I am looking at the 0% for 36 months on the M50-KHS CC Tank. What's your opinion of this mower? The deck is still stamped instead of fabricated but the quality of the M50 compared to the ZF44 and 50in mowers is much better. (more expensive too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Have read about clogging problems on the Zf44 so I am leaning towards the M50 tank. WHich is better - a Kohler Engine or a Kawasaki engine? THe M50-KHS comes with a Kohler Command V-Twin OHV. Thanks for your replies

Do it, the M50KHS is a nice ballance between commercial and residential...but then you could get the Z-Force 48 with a commercial deck...that would be my choice...but then your finanacing is limited to 12 months.

Doing all the figures! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Under that reasoning I'd throw the M48 in the mix too. At three years, you'd have the same payment as the ZF50 on two.

That said, I'd certainly take the ZF50 over the 44, mainly because with the same wheel base, the extra six inches will give you much nicer trim ability (getting under hedges, birdbaths and things).

The charged IZTs, heavier frame, and larger tires on the M50 will give it some speed, more cababilities on rough areas and likely a better ride. I don't know why they went with a 13gage deck [lighter than the ZF], but the design might be better anyway. Or maybe they figure that entry level commercial users abuse the deck less than homeowners; beats me! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The M48 would have commercial pumps and wheel motors, and a fabricated heavy gage deck. I'd almost bet a much better resale in % as well as raw $$$$ over the others, though that probably isn't a consideration here.

The Kohler Command (not the courage) seems to be a respected engine; I was looking for that or a Briggs Vangard, but found a commmercial machine with a Kawasaki and have been pleased; started right off after 5months winter storage. Also, it has the big cylinder shaped commercial air cleaner (I think the M48 has that, not sure about the M50) which just amazes me.

Have fun! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
