Well...after thinking about this, checking prices and looking at different models, I decided to stick with a traditional lawn tractor. I found one that turns much tighter than the Craftsman I have now. I bought a Cub Cadet SLT 1550. It has a nice 25HP Kohler engine and 50" deck. It's hydrostatic too...so no more shifting! I also really like the car-like front lifting hood that raises on it's own (after unlatching) it just like you would a car hood and it stays up. Another nice thing is Home Depot has a 12 month no interest or payments special going so I took that option and will pay it off next June before the interest hits /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Now I need to get some new Carlisle Super Lug tires and weights for the back. I need those items for my hills. The turf savers are useless.

Here are a couple photos of the new guy in the basement...

Nice looking tractor, I too liked the looks of the Cubs. After you use it a while post your impressions, also if it cuts as fast as your old Craftsman. Have fun! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Check it out. My old tires on the Craftsman fit the new rims. I moved them over this morning. The 55 pound wheel weights fit too! Now I'm all set. There was just barely enough clearnance between the tire and the deck, but it fits fine.
