ZTR or Tractor for 5 acres

/ ZTR or Tractor for 5 acres #11
Flymutt,

Tractors are great cutting machines and it your landscape is very rough then that maybe the best way to go. I own a Ferris 3000 61" ZTR and feel that is one of the best cutting and most comfortable riding ZTR's on the market for smooth and moderate pasture/lawn cutting. It has shock absorbers and one of the most comfortable seats made for cutting. Test drive as many ztr's as you can and then made your decision on cutting speed, ride and dealer service. I use to own a 35hp Branson tractor with a 72" finish mower and it took me 4 1/2 hours to mow my five acres of cow pasture. It now only takes me 2 1/2 hours with the Ferris and it is a lot more fun to drive and I have a small trailer hook up to the back to haul stuff with around the yard. A good commerical ztr will set you back around $7000.00 to $9400.00 but it should last you a lifetime if you maintain it well. Best of luck on your purchase.
