I cant comment on the Kubota mowers but the Ferris is definitely a smoother rider than others in its class. If you decide on a Ferris be sure to ask for a Kawasaki FX grade engine. The fuel consumption (or lack of ) is phenomenal with the Kawasaki engine. My IS 700Z has a 52" deck with a 23 HP motor and mows twice as fast as my other mower with same size deck and 26 HP B&S engine but consumes about 1/3 less fuel for the same amount of work, some of which can be attributed to faster ground speed but not all.
Find some rough ground to demo all the other mowers on and you can readily see the difference in comfort level. About 3/4 of my mowing is converted pasture which is fairly rough and the suspension helps to smooth out the bumps and make mowing much more enjoyable. I mow about 6 acres in 2.5 hours and have tons of trees and shrubs to mow around.
