Is FX17D one of the the rare and unsupported models? Tractordata doesn't have most of its specs. I've spent the evening reading everything in this forum and elsewhere related to that model. There are few posts anywhere and almost none recent. Interest in them seems to have faded years ago. I would love to hear that there are lots of owners on here and nobody ever needs anything ... or, were they so rare that they were all retired due to lack of parts?

I must ask, have you found one you are interested in? I notice browsing Hoyes FX17 parts they show rings for the f16 and f18 but not for the f17. I just have to believe they would be available. Also notice no 4 wheel drive parts are listed. I really doubt that means none are available but one never knows. I would think a phone call to Hoye or a "contact me" to Aaron might get you some good answers. They do carry a parts manual for them. One thread indicated the FX17 was manufactured from 1984 through 1986. Would seem to have a 3TN75U engine.

How is parts availability in the UK?

To be honest i havent really found a supplier for anything, so anything i have needed i have ordered from Hoye.

Ernie, Wayne, ... Buck? Does anyone have a comment who has sold or owned one of these?

He sold it under 24 hours for $4400.

I'm pretty sure this came from the VN importer here who closed five years ago, buried under warranty returns.

Even with the loader and mower, that likely origin made this one a gamble. Also his photo shows bad rust on the loader rams and some on the hood (likely a VN repaint), "looks like that because I leave it out side only". "It needs the fluids changed plus a battery before you can put it in service".

I'll never know if I missed a bargain or a headache. So far I've won two such gambles; my two elderly Yanmars have flawless reliability after their initial setup. But mine are common models with parts available. This one would have been a roll of the dice. 100% of owners posts I found were requests for help - all of them unresolved.

If the new owner shows up here, because this is nearly the only link he'll find searching Google on 'FX17D' ... Welcome bro! :)

Guess it just wasn't meant to be! :( I was looking forward to following your new project. :D One thing that looks very attractive on those models is the flat floor board.
