My BX2360 , like all Kubota products imported to Australia , arrived "dry".
Why , I really don't understand , but that's how it is.
This was manufactured in January , arrived at the Dealer in June ( when
it was PD'ed ) and I bought it this month . Had 1 hour on the clock , and
now has 3 hours ..........
Now , SUDT is NOT imported by Kubota Australia ( only UDT ) , so my
transmission-fill is not the 10w/20 SUDT , but a 20w Fuchs UTTO ( these
Dealers use whatever's cheap ! ). I wasn't happy about this situation , so
after some considerable research I bought John Deere 10w/30 Hy-Gard
low viscosity yesterday. I changed out the 11.something liters of oil
and replaced it with the more suitable product . Just look at the state
of this 3 hour oil . It was very black for trans oil . I've seen this symptom
before in dry-shipped small engines to Oz , but vehicle trans & diffs are
factory-filled . I'm SO glad to have acted immediately ! 5 months oxidation.
Today I'm changing the engine oil and the front axle too ( 20w to EP80ish ).

The same here in the US. Many if not most Kubota dealers use UDT, in fact, the dealer nearest me doesn't even stock SUDT. I do my own transmission fluid replacement so I order SUDT.

My local dealer does stock it, but discourages people from using it. Made a big difference in my 1830, so I run SUDT.

OrangeRidge...
You have the CLEANEST tools and drain pans I have ever seen around a tractor...
and that stuff in the drain pail is nasty looking... But it would sure show up on a sight glass... I use UDT but it is almost water clear with a slight honey color... KennyV

All the plastic-wear is new and I got it just for this job
That 27mm 1/2" socket had never been used ; big drain plug ;)
The JD low visc is a slight honey/orange colour too , so you can
imagine the shock when I saw the state of this bucket full !

My neighbour has a GR2110 and the Dealer sold him 20w Fuchs UTTO
last month . He's changing to the JD 10w/30 for better response.

As my wife just said to me , " Why can't folk just buy something and
be able to use it , instead of having to be an expert on the product
because the service that is provided sucks ! " . I have to agree.

I Emailed Kubota Aust about SUDT , and they didn't respond ( not
surprised really ) , whilst John Deere sent me a load of info/prices .......
I phoned 3 Kubota Dealers in Queensland , and one said these Forums
are rubbish and there was no such thing as SUDT ........ which rock ?

Without any doubt a lot of the forums on the internet are rubbish, and some of the things on the very best is possibly also rubbish.
Tractor by Net is among the best because of the people that put it together and keep it civil and on track...
It's too bad that the dealership that feels so strongly against this forum is not involved with contributing to it's information.
I do however understand why some would like there not to be anyplace to express opinion and experience with products and equipment... KennyV
PS.. finding good supplies & suppliers is rather challenging at times...

Well , cut the grass yesterday morning and the BX is MUCH better
for the correct oil. RPM only drops 50 on the steep sections and the
PTO MMM engagement barely causes a stutter . As we all know , the engine
powers the pump and since the resistance has now reduced (with 10w/30HG)
I got a 3440rpm 2WD run up the drive vs. 3200rpm with 20w oil.
This BX is excellent:D. I'm very pleased.

Very nice looking place you have there.

Glad you like your BX. Proper lubricants and fluids makes a big difference. Personally I use Amsoil synthetic in everything, even the gear box on my mmm.

I gave my neighbour oil to change-out his GR2100 transmission
on tuesday. He drove around for 10 mins with the 20w to mix
it up , then put in the 10w/30 HyGard. The GR now has a reverse
speed (;)) whereas it use to be hopeless . He's impressed with the
new response. We're all happy up on the hill this week !

Just a quick update :

Spring is here ( southern hemis. ) and now done 20hrs .
Just sucked 10ml of HST oil out ( with a syringe ) and I'm
pleased to say it's hardly any darker than the new 10w/30
JD . I wonder if it really is a good policy for these factories
to suggest such a long wait for 1st oil change on a high
pressure pump system . There's similar reports on the JD
forum with 2000 series ........ It's easy to have a check ;)
