    To CAB or NOT

I have both. My cab does not have A/C but fans for cooling and keeping the glass clear in cold weather. The cab is convenient for controls, lighting, FEL, strobe, front and rear lighting. And you do stay cleaner. Entering and exiting isn’t a problem.

Really, really dumb question about difference between off road and on road diesel fuel.

Ag use and off road fuel has a dye to signify that it isn’t taxed for road use. That’s the difference for me. As for using fuel oil for a tractor why take the chance?

    Block heater

I have used block heaters, radiator hose heaters, battery warmers and the like. My favorite package is a combination block heater and battery warmer that was a factory option on my 2005 Ford Ranger. I like radiator / heater hose heaters the least and use them only as a last resort or as a...

Keeping mice out of your tractors engine bay over the winter and summer too.

I have two things I do to keep nesting critters out of things. First I give them no refuge, maybe leave the hood open, things like that, it diminishes confined spaces for nests. I also trap aggressively using two Tom Cat brand traps that are large enough for rats or chipmunks. They are tunnel...

How Many Have More Than One Tractor?

My two tractors were used heavily for years but not as much now. I finally got a shed for them and that paid off handsomely. The tractors are set up for different jobs which saves considerable time, that is my biggest payoff.

PTO on 8N won’t attach to mower shaft. My 8N PTO has a kind of slight flange around it that keeps the u-joint from sliding on enough to engage the

I have happily owned my 1949 8N since 1992. It is equipped like yours. My advice is install an override clutch no matter what! This will help you mate the shaft to the coupling.

How long does an engine coolant heater need to be plugged in?

Hose type heaters will work fine if installed properly and that’s the rub. Many engines don’t have enough space for the hose heater to be installed so its heated coolant is blocked by the thermostat to warm the block. Both of my tractors have this problem. My solution is magnet mount heaters...

    Cigarette Lighter

I’ve installed several over many years and I always make sure to use #12 copper wire color coded for the application, the grounding of the receptacle is mandatory and I usually wire it hot to the battery. This makes using a battery maintainer easier.

    Eradicating rocks before tilling

Planting food plots for deer isn’t allowed where I live. CWD is a real problem that is not improving and feeding and baiting of deer is a big problem. Our forests are threatened because there are too many deer, they browse young tree seedlings and kill them, no more natural regeneration for...

Mitsubishi MT300D Parts catalogue and instruction manual.

I just sent you an email as you requested and figured adding this can’t hurt. I’m like you I view without signing in.

1984 Satoh S650G - Is it worth it, and how about a loader?

No, it’s powered by a pump on the engine, not a crankshaft syste.

What is your opinion of a Schwartz loader?

1984 Satoh S650G - Is it worth it, and how about a loader?

The FEL for my Mitsubishi MT300D was custom made by Schwartz in Long Lake MN, they’re out there hopefully!

Keeping mice out of your tractors engine bay over the winter and summer too.

Hola, the dryer sheets are necessary but what I was surprised to learn is that the scent from a nest is a powerful attraction. Cleaning, good old soap and water helps prevent reinfection. Put those power washers to good use! I had an outboard motor that was a mouse magnet until I got and kept...

    My New To Me 8n

I guess that I’ve used my N for everything that I can think of except baling and tilling. No FEL work too. I have dug with a rear mounted bucket and my neck remembers. A wonderful machine for me.

    My New To Me 8n

The ORC is a must have safety feature, use it, I know from experience. I recommend the N-News Magazine for all N users.

    My New To Me 8n

A big advantage for the N series is that parts are to be had from large chain stores, auto supply chains and online too. I went to TSC for a muffler. I believe that the N series is the tractor with the most # manufactured.

    My New To Me 8n

Congratulations on your fine decision. I bought one 30 years ago and just now have to do some engine work. My wife helped me with ours, I had found several but they just didn’t feel right. The 1949 model we have she encouraged me to buy, she was right on. Up until recently it was a hard...

    Rotary Cutter  Overrunning Clutch

I’ve got a 5’ rotary mower that I normally use an 8N to pull, I want to try my Mitsibishi 300D for the job. Should I install an overrunning attachment on the PTO? I use one for the 8N.

    Hydraulic pump failure MT300D

Good news, operator error during a repair was the reason for no hydraulic pressure, a quick connect wasn’t fully engaged. It wouldn’t pull apart but wasn’t really connected. Live and learn.

    Hydraulic pump failure MT300D

What a great thing this forum is! I suspected for a better term the system had lost its “prime.” So I begin again in April when my fingers won’t freeze in the Minnesota/Wisconsin winter. Thanks again for your help and what’s good to know is that future assistance is like my home brew, it...

    Hydraulic pump failure MT300D

No, I didn’t try that. Perhaps you can tell me how? I was first replacing the water pump with one that I got from you. While at it with things disassembled I just kept fixing all of those “little“ things that I’d put off. It happened when I replaced worn and slightly leaking hydraulic hoses...

    Hydraulic pump failure MT300D

I want to thank everyone who has responded. This all started with replacing some leaking/damaged hoses, then cleaning up the controls. Now nothing works, no FEL or 3pt. I am beginning to follow up on the suggestion, thank.

    Hydraulic pump failure MT300D

This unit is 35+ years old and the manufacturer of the Hy Pump? I will try Monday at Valley Power and Leonard Schaefer too. A shame not to be able to keep this tractor working.

    Hydraulic pump failure MT300D

Looking to rebuild the hydraulic system on my MT300D, is this possible or should I concentrate on a PTO add on pump? I have a two speed PTO so which level do you select?

    Headlights for a Mitsibishi MT300D.

Thanks, I like your solution. My tractor has a loader and the bucket is always in front of the lights, they don’t do much, so filling the grill will likely finally get some light out front. It’s wired for low and high beams.

My MT300D is a blue and white Mitsubishi a 1986 model. The lights measure 85mm X 140mm, this is the part that you see. The overall or outside size is 90mm X 150mm. Thanks for your respons!

    Headlights for a Mitsibishi MT300D.

I need to replace both headlights. OE are Stanley 001-3670 with 001-1726 sockets. I need to replace the entire thing. Any ideas for a cross reference? I would like to skip modifying the grill.

    MT 300D paint

Hello! Research here helped me find a match for the blue paint on my tractor, Rust-Oleum Tremclad Medium Blue #27009B522. The only problem is it is available only in Canada and I live in the USA. Rust-Oleum says their High Performance Spray Enamel Safety Blue #7524838 is their best match and...
