    Operator not in seat

How can I get around that in a 3120? Somehow one wire was sliced and I have it barely connected now. I've always hated this feature because I can't even lift my *** up to scratch it without shutting down. If the two wires are connected, will that fool it? I'm all for safety! That being...

    Mowing  Field Mowing Tips

I haven't been on here in a while. I bought my first tractor, a JD 3120, a hair over a year ago. I guess I've been too busy putting the 280 hours it has on it now. I decided to leave my acreage kind of rough for now so I dumped my X320 mower and got myself an RC1060 for the tractor. I'll get...

    Custom truck beds

Well, I had a little mishap with my truck yesterday. I guess I'll finally get some of my insurance premium back (not the way I wanted it). I'm thinking I did enough damage that much or all of the bed will have to be replaced. I'm trying to find a company that makes custom beds. Same...

    Light it up!

I haven't played at night yet, but I think I'll be able to see better now. Now I want to figure out how to make a pocket under the roof to keep manuals and stuff like that in. Any ideas?

    Grapple  Anbo Grapple Rake

Well she came in the other day. I have yet to use it. I might run next door and see how it works on the neighbors blackberries. I'm trying to keep her kind of clean for my buddy who is supposed to be here to hook up my new lights. Two 25W up high on the front and two 25W on the ROPs in the...

    More grapple talk

It seems I can never find the threads I want to see when I'm looking for them. Someone out there has some great pictures of their tractor doing all the stuff I need to do with a grapple. I'm trying to find a good one now that won't break the bank and I can get ahold of soon. I've checked with...

    Warm up and idling

A few things I'm wondering about with the snow falling. Proper starting and warm up for one and the other is let it idle or turn it off? If I am just stepping off I'll let it idle but if I am hopping off to use the chain saw or do something that may take 3-5 minutes I turn it off. Is it...

    50 hour service

How big a deal is it to get this right at the 50 hour mark? I just turned 50 and I may have another 15-20 hours before I'll be able to get it in. Do bad things happen say at 70 hours?

    New 24' Trailer

Well I gave up the idea of finding a dumping trailer that was also usefull for hauling the tractor. I ended up having Top Notch build me a 24' 14,000 GVW trailer. Inside of 5 days they built it and had a license plate on it. It seems pretty stout and at $4700, it seems like a pretty good...

    Help with new RT1160H

This tiller was dropped off today when I was gone. I can't figure out how to hook it up. There was a driveline sitting on top of the unit and another on the unit. I picked it up with the I-match, no problem, to get it in the light. Now I can't figure out how to get the drivelines together...

    Bent the 4-in1 bucket

Well I'm just about to 28 hours and am fast becoming an expert at destruction. While picking up a piece of stump to get higher on the pile, I somehow bent the bottom part of the bucket (the part that opens up). It wasn't even that heavy, at least compared to some things I've attempted to lift...

    Reverse Fan

This thought just came to me through another section after I got some flak for posting a picture of my tractor with a dirty grill. I swear that grill is like a vacuum cleaner and I find myself clearing it when I'm working in debris a lot. The idea I have is a button that reverses the fan for...

    Saw holster and new home

Here's what a guy with little talent or know how can do with that ballast box. Saw fits nice and it is right there close where I can grab it without having to worry about running it over. The next shot is the new home for all things outside. The last shot is what happens when trying to find a...

    Trailer north or south

The guy that dropped my new tractor off suggested that I only tow it backwards on the trailer because of the canopy. It seems pretty stout and I could swear that the salesman told me it would hold up fine all day long on the freeway facing forward. Maybe this guy had something happen to him...

Destruction of a new guy, and his tractor

Now that I've got 5.8 hours on the clock (4.1 of which are mine) I'm an expert and can comment in the owning/operating section, right? I'll say first that I'll have a lashing for the salesman that said the huge brush grill was overkill, because I've already bent it. If you're playing with...

    3120 finally arrives!

Oh boy am I excited! They even dropped it off for me at a friend's house for free since my trailer had a minor melt down yesterday (apparently the white wire does not hook up to that one). Just signed some things for the driver and that was it. Almost too easy without even an exchange of a...

    Still waiting for 3120

I'm still waiting for this tractor while it sits there, I keep reading these posts and finding new things to add. I've got to get it before I try to add satellite TV! Right now it will have the 4-in-1 loader, 65" BB, 60" Brush Mower, Front and Rear work lights on the ROPS and one of those...

    Dump trailers

Does anyone know of a good dump trailer that can also be used to safely haul a tractor. Most of the ones I've seen seem to sit way too high. I'd love to find something just like my car trailer which has a 7' X 16' deck, but with dumping capabilities. That way I could transport cars too.

    Working for others.

This is probably an open ended question, but here it goes. In order to pay for this new tractor I am buying, I'd like to do some side jobs. I want to keep it light and just do what I can, when I can. I don't want a business out of it, but I want to be paid when I work. Am I going to need a...

New guy waiting for new 3120

Wow, getting approval on this site was harder than getting approved for that 0% financing. At least I was able to read many postings before making my final pick. I really wanted to make sure that going green wasn't a bad idea compared to the rest as I know close to nothing about tractors. I...
