Engine speed and 3PH lifting capacity...

I haven't asked a really stupid question for a while, so though I'd bring up this one: is the lifting capacity of the 3 PH related to the speed the engine is running? I ask because I have one attachment that is one the edge of my tractor not being able to lift it (Kubota B2920). This thing (an...

    Core aerator spoons

I just bought a used core aerator. It's a Bush Hog MPG 600, and I've replaced about 15 of the spoons because they were actually broke (I noticed this when I bought the aerator). This isn't a big deal, I found aftermarket replacements for $4 each (versus the BH price of about $28!) and they are...

    and I was so proud....

my B2920 was delivered with a defective BH frame, and I was having all kinds of problems getting the hoe on/off the machine. After a lot of work (this was mentioned in another thread) I was able to get the frame replaced, and the first time I mounted my hoe on the new frame I got it done in 15...

So, I found this B3030, and I wonder

what you'all think of the price. It's an '06, 200 hours, listed for $22K....with BH, FEL, 60"MMM, and a box blade. I went to Kubota's site and that stuff (w/o BB) would list right near $33K...so I'm thinking this tractor might be a steal. But understand I know a whole lot less about this stuff...

First time PHD use, and some questions.

I used my post hole digger for the first time yesterday, and things actually went very well after I had read everything I could fins on TBN about using it. A couple of things happened: at times I had some pretty sever wobble on the auger, which was shaking the whole tractor. I had not tightened...

    Block heater follow up

I was reading another post about whether the poster should have a block heater. I didn't want to hijack that thread, so am starting this one. Would it be better to have a hydraulic fluid heater as opposed to a block heater. My thinking (which is often flawed) is that you can warm the engine up...

Converting ignition to electronic (Troy Bilt)

I've acquired a Troy Bilt horse, on of the Garden Way 4-speed jobs with a 6HP Tecumseh. In trying to get up to speed on this thing, I've searched and read a lot of threads, some of them 7-8 years old (here and elsewhere). One of them mentioned a fellow converted his ignition to electronic on...

    Tilling advice

I have to say I love tilling with my 3PH tiller, but always seem to have problem on entry and exit from the garden...actually more so on exit. I have the uncanny ability to leave a 50" wide barrel shape cut right at the edge of the garden where I exit despite how careful I try to be at raising...

Pinning the front of the MMM

My B series with a 60" MMM has provisions on the front of the mower deck to put 2 pins in it for support when I'm "using 3 point attachments" (per manual). This is a bit of a pain. First the deck doesn't lift high enough for the pin holes to line up, so I have to use a floor jack to raise each...

    Plugged grease joint

I can't grease into one of the zerks on my FEL, I was planning on getting one of those tools that blow the joint open by forcing oil into it...those things you hit with a hammer. Does the Harbor Freight cheapie work? The better ones are over twice as expensive....I'll spend it if I have too, but...

    Using a QH

So I'm still a newbie at a lot of this stuff, and have a question about the HF QH I bought (yeah, I'm cheap!). I noticed the openings in the hooks on the quick hitxh can accept the cat. 3 bushings, but on a couple of things (like my tiller) if I put cat 3 bushing on it, the hook won't fit into...

    Power to an electric sprayer

I need to somehow provide power to a little tow behind sprayer on my 2920. The pump is fused at 8 amps, so what size wire would I need to carry that load. Witout advice, I would probably just connect a wire to the positive post on the battery, run it to the back of the tractor and use a 2 pole...

    Middelbuster/subsoiler combo?

I've been looking to get a middle buster, and was planning on a subsoiler later, but I see in the TSC blue book they have a combo. Knowing the combo items always compromise something, does anyone have any experience with this setup? Does it do both jobs well (or at all)?

Dealer hasn't worked out very well

What do you do when you buy a tractor from a dealer that you believed was a fairly competent, reasonable, and fair dealer and it works out to be completely opposite of that? I know someone will say "find a different dealer". OK, fair enough...but in the meantime I have at least one, maybe two...

    Wheel interchangeability....

I found a set of turfs/wheels I would like to buy for my B2920 (currently shod in R-4's). They came off an L3010. Is there anywhere online I can find out if these will work. The turks are about 150 miles away, so hauling my tractor there to figure it out isn't an option. I guess I can go to a...

    I gotta tell ya'

With all the threads about R4/ag/turf tires, right now as wet as it is around me I won't be tilling for another month; and that's only if it's stops raining this week . So maybe instead of the R4's I wound up with I should be looking for a set of floatation tires.........

    Kubota/dealership relations

I bought my tractor a year ago this month, from a local dealer whom I had thought was going to provide great service. That hasn't worked out so well (dealer shall remain unnamed) and even a problem that Kubota should have resolved was, at best, a cobbled attempt by my dealer to get things to...

Thinking of a ZT 60 HD

Where better to get input on a Gravely. I'm thinking of replacing my 16 year old Dixon this year. I'm looking at a Gravely ZT HD 60. I had a couple of specific questions: the only dealer real close to me seems to charge list price ($4800, in this case). Do dealers generally discount these mowers...

Question about snowthrower, before I pull a boner!

Last Friday's snow was quite a bit more wet than normal. After going down my drive and getting about 2/3's of the way back my thrower's chute completely clogged. I hadn't caught any icy slush, it was just the wet snow had packed it closed. I was close enough to done to just finish up with the...

    Larger bucket

My first winter with my B2920, and it has worked out very well. I have the 3PH snowblower (B2789) and left the FEL on for the deeper drifts. As it turns out I would love to have a 60" bucket for snow as opposed to the 50" that came with the tractor. Do I have any options for this? Bad idea?

    Pallet forks for my B2920

I thought I saw this sometime back, but can't find the thread. I'd like a set of forks for my 2920, but not the clamp/chain/bucket type. I thought I'd read where the forks from a larger model (3030 or 3200 ?) would fit the 2920 FEL arms. Can someone confirm (or deny) this? If true, about how...

So much for the ice being thick enough!

I wish there was pics I could link for this, the story was on the local news last night. Earlier this week a nearby Parks dept. reported that the ice on the local ponds (their ponds) was thick enough for skating. So yesterday they took their tractor (appeared to be a JD2305 or similar) with a...

    So tempting

Last spring I was looking to buy a tractor. I spent several months looking for used ones and didn't find enough discount to buy one versus new. For the record I wound up with a B2920 and some stuff, but while looking at used ones there was a guy trying to sell a B2630/LA403/MMM (106 hrs.). It...

    RPM's and BH

I've been digging up my garden, both to practice with the BH as well as to loosen up the soil for winter. Got to wondering about where the engine should be while I'm digging (B2920 with BH65). I was running it pretty slow, maybe 1600-1800 RPM and noticed slow movement with the hydraulics; it was...

    Can't find the post

about the seller here who has a wheel set for MMM decks. I read about it a few months back and made a mental note to get a set. Now I can't find the post, and apparently haven't tried the correct search term. Can anybody help me find these things?

    Snowthrowers (again).

This will be my first winter with the tractor (2920) and 3PH thrower I bought. As I look at the thrower and think of the aspect of driving my 500 foot drive backwards, I'm trying to think ahead of what I might have done different. I'm also wondering about the thrower itself (Kubota). The shoes...

Lesson, learned. BH on a B2920

I was following another thread about the hassle on mounting a BH on a Kubota. I had bought a B2920 last April with the BH but didn't ask the dealer to deliver it (the hoe) until this week (just moved here, and had to make room in the barn). In the mentioned thread, DeizNutz (sp?) posted a photo...

    B2920 with 2 bottom plow.

I'd like a plow to use occasionally for the small garden I have, put in a food plot, and random lawn renovation. My owner's manual suggests a 1 bottom (14") plow, but the only used ones that show up around me are for much smaller tractors, many along the lawn tractor category. I do see quite a...

    Flail versus rotary

I have about 10 acres rented out for tillage. Even so, there may be once or twice a year I would have to mow it. So I'm considering getting a cutter for the back of my B2920. Is there a reason I would choose a flail mower over a rotary for such service...there is almost no chance it would be...
