Parts that can be interchanged between models

I was wondering if there has ever been a parts interchange list between models. I noticed on the YM1900 that there are a lot of 1600 and 2000 and some 1700 parts that are the same or will work with little modification. It would really be great to know if there are some things that can be...

    Alternator and starter

Just wanted to post some things I found while working on the alternator and starter. It got to the point of having to use the compression release to get the engine to spin as the starter wouldn't turn the engine over without it. Took it apart to see if it could be cleaned and maybe get some...

    Brake overhaul

Has anyone ever removed the brake drum housing from the transmission case? I removed the 4 bolts but it only move out about a 1/4" and then the shaft binds up and won't come out any farther. I can't tell from the diagrams that there is anything other than the 4 bolts holding it in place.

    Slow moving FEL

I'll start this thread so I can continue troubleshooting the loader without confusing everyone in TRH's thread. Quote: Originally Posted by Gary Sweat View Post OK, I went ahead and ran the tractor in the garage. (cough, cough). Here is what I timed: 1000 rpm - loader to full height = 14...

Think I have a fuel injector problem

After replacing the fuel filter, air filter and installing the TS the engine is running ruff at idle and won't pull at all. I can't even take off in high gear without opening it wide open. Also, hard to start. Acts like it is only running on one cylinder. I bled the fuel bowl (both screws)...

    Install oil pressure gauge

I had an oil pressure gauge on my YM1900 until the nylon line broke. At the time I did not know there was a copper line kit available for it. When the line broke I decided to put a new oil light sending unit back in and just use the light as I had read some don't think it is worth taking the...

    Pulled the oil pan

I decided to go ahead and pull the oil plate just to see what the engine looked like. It has not been opened up in the almost 7 years I have known it. Don't know anything about it prior to that. I expected to see a lot worse than I found. To me this indicates at some point someone has been...

Thermostart vs magnetic oil pan heater

I think I have the option of installing a thermostart on my YM1900. So, my question is, which method would work the best for cold winter starting? The temperature for my area seldom gets below 10 degrees, mostly in the range of 15 to 20 degrees during the winter months. The tractor is kept in...

Rear wheel weights vs filling tires

I would like to hear opinions on installing weights to the rear wheels vs filling the tires. I have seen both but don't really know the benefits of each. Since adding the loader to my YM1900 2wd, I have only had to hitch up the box blade to keep traction. I don't always want the box blade on...

    Problems on home built FEL

I have been out learning how to use the loader and testing it. Everything with the loader seems to be working alright but two things have shown up that I didn't expect. Tractor is a YM1900. 1) Hydraulic oil from the transmission is seeping out around the shifter boot. I am assuming it is...

    FEL control valve on YM1900

I hope this topic has not been covered and I'm wasting every body's time but I'm stuck trying to understand how to plumb in the loader control valve I have on my YM1900 loader that I built. The guys in the hydraulic section have been very helpful in getting me to understand how the valve needs...

    Hydraulic control valve

I apologize in advance if this has been covered before but I didn't see it brought up exactly. I bought the Bailey joystick control valve 220-910 to put on the FEL I just finished building. The valve did not come with any paper showing the port routing so I figured I could blow air through the...

Tires  Replacing the front hubs on YM1900

Has anyone replaced or attempted to replace the front hubs with a 5 lug trailer hub? I don't know if this is possible due to axle size but it would be nice to update to timken style roller bearings for the FEL I am building for it. Would also make it easier to go to a wider tire and wheel.

    YM1900 FEL

I just joined after looking through the postings and decided this forum looks like a good place to get help with my YM1900. I have had the tractor for about 6 years. I have done some work on it and now I want to put a FEL on it. My question is: Can a larger hydraulic pump be put in place of...
