You know what's going to blow your mind? Those 50 and 55 series machines are antique tractors; hell, to a young man a 4x20 series Deere is old, as old as he is.

I am OLD but purchased a Yanmar new the YT235C and really
enjoy the cab especially with the 100+ weather and to move any
thing heavy its great! Don't think for one minute that you won't get
any exersize because getting on and off the tractor sliding objects
into the bucket and gettin back on the tractor is exersize! As far
as visibility I can see the back of the tractor with out opening the
back window and I can seel all 4 tires and I have plenty of room
in the cab. As far as tree branches hitting the cab cut them ;off
and you won't have a problem simple solution! Just purchase
the cab as if you don't you will be kicking your self in the rear
later! I didn't have to make a decision about; getting a cab as
my wife said get the cab! 😋

The contractors that preform power line ROW maintenance run tractors that look similar to that. They usually have a full cage like that, a complete bottom skid pan, foam filled tires and run a heavy duty mulching rated cutter. The power line work isn’t done very frequently and it’s a lot more serious work than just mowing grass beside the road way.
Talked to my neighbor about the cage. You are spot on. It was a 100HP machine for a utility contractor. We have a lot of trees and a lot of gas and electric easements around here.
