The CTS was built to go head to head w the BMW 3 series and Benz C class and has done a very good job.

I thought the ATS was the 3 series fighter...
I know the ATS was only a couple of judgmental points away from beating it in my last Car and Driver mag.

The CTS was GM's most recent attempt at going against the 3 series BMW's (mentioned in the 3rd paragraph of your link) before the ATS was introduced. Looks like Cadillac has two sedans now in a close segment. Kinda like the 3 and 5 series BMW's.

I agree. My father loved his 96 Impala SS. Glad to see a bowtie on a large RWD sedan again. :thumbsup:

Its a good looking car. My first thought was it looked just like my 07 BMW 335I. I see others see the similarities.

Guess I'm just old school but performance cars should be 2 doors. Dodge came back with a 2 door Challenger but only the 4 door Charger and I have one just wish it was 2 door.

Saw these in Saudi about ten years ago.... rear wheel drive Impalas with Aluminum V-8's and no cats. Stupid top end on these cars, with the same crappy brakes. Saw a guy loop one into the median at 100+ one day.

I remember seeing them test it on Topgear.
