Drone pictures from the aftermath of the unloading belt fire on the Cuyahoga Ship in Ashtabula OH. I've been told no one was hurt and everyone made it off okay. Smoke was visible for miles away. This is the second fire on the Cuyahoga in a year. I can't say if she was unloading there or was this the winter tie up location.

This is the Presque Isle tug from Great Lakes Fleet ready and waiting to “link up” to her consort the Presque Isle barge… they are currently in Erie, PA and Brent Belanger the GM for Soo Marine Supply was there to bring them their fitout order so he grabbed this shot and sent my way!!
This is a really cool shot because it’s a rare thing to see the PI tug on her own… you’ll notice along the railings are the Viking shields I have mentioned many times before… they are very cool and I think they add a lot to the look of the tug!!
Will they be our first vessel? All of the thousand footers automatically head our way when they leave their layup location because they all load in either Duluth, Silver Bay, Two Harbors or Superior and the PI is one of the footers…. However she is also the farthest away so it will be a tall order to get here first, especially with at least four footers a lot closer in Toledo and others in Sturgeon (the Cort however is not out until at least the middle of April since she is in drydock now) The American Spirit and Paul R Tregurtha are already north but I have heard the Paul R will get a late start due to work still needing to be completed so they won’t be first… not sure the American Spirit’s plans… Maybe Captain VonSprecken or Captain Boyd will let me know once they know

Yes but still has 14,840 bhp. Shipping season is ramping up and photos are being posted on a regular bases now.

Somebody's "booting up" at the Fraser shipyard! Not long now and the Arthur M Anderson will be out and about for the season.

The shipping season has started in the Twin Ports (Duluth MN, Superior WI) with CSL's Baie Comeau shifting from its winter layup to CN Dock 6 to load. - March 20, 2024 Or should this be in the RR thread?
