I build this hydr press a couple yrs ago from stuff i had laying around.
Only things i bought new was the soleniod valve and remote hand control + hydr hoses.
the cylinder is 6" x 12" stroke.
i used a 2 hp electr motor to drive the pump.

I don't know how i ever lived without it before

I have kicked that idea around and the only part I don't like is tripping over the legs to stabilize the press. Plus they do take up some room and are not very portable. One of these days I will find a design that will work better for my situation.

Nice press. What size of channel is that?

Cool. How'd you punch the holes for the work table pins?

I drilled pilot holes, clamped an old brg race with the proper size hole in it welded to a piece of angle iron as a guide for the torch to the channel and cut them to size with the torch, then finnishid up with a grinding cone on the angle grinder.

I like that idea.

Is your pins heat treated, or just shafts out of something you had? (the bed)

A six inch cylinder @ 4500 psi has 63.6 tons of push. That's getting into some serious force! I can't tell from the pics, but is the ram free to travel from side to side?
