John Deere Auto Connect 72" MMM

/ John Deere Auto Connect 72" MMM #21
1) I upgraded to the larger galaxy R4s, and I have the rears loaded with rimguard and all on the narrow position. So far on my property I am very comfortable on all of the slopes, I don't know what the actual angles are. I am very impressed with the ability to climb and descend very steep slopes with the loader on. I just take it slow where it’s uneven, and the precision control of the ehydro is very nice for this reason. So far I see no reason for me to widen the wheels.

2) I don't know for sure, but I'm going to guess that the front tires would hit the mmm on the wide position. It's a very big difference in offset.

3) Then manual is available on JD's website with all combinations of tires for different settings. Just click on manuals under the 3520 on the left side of the page. I believe it says no special turf tires with the mmm, but others on tbn, say it works fine. Do a search any you should come up with good info on this.

4)I bought from Elders in east palestine ohio. I bought a machine that they've had on the lot since the spring and my family has purchased from them for a very long time so I believe I got a unique deal. 3520, ehydro, cruise upgrade, large R4's, 300cx, HD 61" bucket, 72d autoconnect 26,750 before fees and such. Keep in mind that prices went up Oct 31, so I got last year’s pricing.

I haven’t had much time in the seat yet, but I’m very impressed with the machine overall.
Good luck with your tractor shopping.

Cowboy - Congratulations on your new 3520!

I知 also considering the same setup (3520 open station w/72D). My biggest concern on the 3520 is the narrow wheel track and total weight for side hill mowing stability. Currently my Deere 870 with loaded tires set to the wide wheel position at 64 outside wheel track has proven to be adequate on my terrain.

Perhaps you can help with some questions.

1) Which tires did you select and do you have any side hill performance comments to share?

2) I see from jsboening pictures his front turf wheels are set to the narrow position. Can the 72" auto connect deck accommodate the front 2 position wheels set to the wide position?

3) Does the 72D manual have any rear wheel/tire restrictions? I can稚 tell from jsboening pictures if his rear wheels are set wide or narrow. Does your 3520 manual give track width for both wheel position settings?

4) I知 also from PA. Which dealer did you use? Can you please share your configuration and pricing???hanks

Check out the threads on spacers, we had some informative discussions on the use of wider tires versus spacers.
