Rob, great post:thumbsup:
Thanks Mark.

Heres my 68 year old wife snowblowing, her first or second time she was a little nervous.

Here she is again doing the sidewalk with the two stage 47'' blower.

Last picture, the Curtiss cab with the heater never fogs up and you only run it on low without a hat or coat or gloves, we get some wind off Lake michigan, but these cabs are super dry and warm.

Having upgraded my 445 to the X585 (X728 today)
I noticed an increase in fuel consumption, and I have
to say, if I get a chance to jump into a X595-X748
I would. The fuel economy will blow the gas out of
the water! and more than make up for the extra 20
or 30 cents per gallon. Winter is a concern, but
with winterblend and proper additives (and some extra
kero on hand for below 0) it shouldn't be a problem.
I agree on torque/power with the diesel, could be
a little stronger, but that X585 certainly does not
lack in power in the heavy wet snow we have had
this past week.

No doubt Dutch you like the diesel.

But lets take a look at what you just put out.

Extra 20 to 30 cents a gallon, 35 here.

Winter is a concern

With winter blend

Proper additives

Extra kerosene on hand

It shouldn't be a problem

Now we can add some more (concerns)

Cold weather starting

block heaters

fuel jelling

glow plugs

Finding diesel fuel

storing diesel fuel

I just listed a dozen things a man might be concerned with, for a diesel guy none of it is a problem, but they will have to deal with it.

How many problems or lets make it sound a little better, how many concerns does a fuel injected gasoline motor have.

Ah, turn the key on and take off.

Rob

OOPS, I forgot a couple things, another gas can and the diesel will cost you more to buy right up front.

age old argument,

lots of good points , won't argue

although , i would rather store a can
of diesel a few weeks than gas
at this point!

I'm sure anybody with a lot of experience with diesel
will feel most of those items are moot points.

:D

Yes Dutch, they both have the pluses and minuses, and were pretty fortunate to be able to have a choice of either.

I thanks for the pics and I have seen some videos of it and the John Deere X728 and it seems very good in snow removal?

It is zero degrees here most of the winter and my 455 and 4210 have never been a problem to start and gelling has never happened. No offense, but a gas tractor is usually purchased by someone who has never had a diesel.....
