Mahindra Max 28XL or Kubota B2920?

Dave, that's AWESOME!

Now shoot a video of the MAX28XL scooping up that fork truck, and then running with it! All compliments aside, I don't think any L3800s or 3038Es would accomplish that task! Congrats on a Superior Compact Utility Tractor!

I have no dog in this hunt, but just wanted to show xskier that a 3038E would probably lift this no problem. Here is my JD 2520 lifting a 5 ton rooftop package unit w/gas heat full height. Unit weighs 1080 not including the wood pallet. The 3038E is rated for more than my 2520 by a couple hundred pounds. Mine is rated at 900 in some pamplets and 800 in others...obviously JD under rates them

Well, I'm going to take a look at a Mahindra Max28XL TLB this weekend at my local dealer which is about 12 miles away. :)

Nice! Have fun shopping.

LD1 Bota VS Max 28XL

The max 28XL was with the FEL next to ground trying to lift the fork lift. LD1's pictures show having the FEL 4- 5 feet or more in the air. This difference in FEL height changes how quick the rear end lifts.

I would have liked it to be alot lower but the way I had to rig it and set it up, that was about as low as I could go.

Next up on the wish list.....5k lb scale:D

That was the Max 25... Not the Max28XL.

The Max 25 has a lift rating of 900. That's the tractor that raised the forklift.

The Max 28 XL is rated to lift 1400 lbs...with breakout close to 2700 lbs.

Dave tested the Max 25.

It says 80-90,000 in their financial reports? Thats what's never jived with any explination I've read from you.

Neil, you must be getting data from just one plant or something. Farm Equipment Magazine has reported more than once on Mahindra's total output, and arguably that is a neutral source. Mahindra is not shy sharing the numbers.

Also a quick google will net you this article: http://myiris.com/newsCentre/storyShow.php?fileR=20120402163041199&dir=2012/04/02

Mahindra sold 235,452 TRACTORS in FY2012, which is April 2011 through March 2012.

So I am not sure where the 80-90K numbers came from, but they aren't the entire picture. 235K tractors is almost 1000 tractors per day if you exclude weekends and holidays.

But this is worldwide, not just USA, and Kubota is extremely strong in the USA. The point being made though is that Mahindra isn't some off-brand outlier (your word) start-up company that is tinkering with the idea of selling a few tractors.

Dave, there are a few companies in the world that make the real forklift mechanism for the 3pt hitch. I would think that would turn any tractor into a forklift... a real one. Have you come across any of those? I'll try to find the links...

Tractor Mounted Fork Lift - YouTube

These are fairly common in the ag world for moving prune boxes and nut boxes, although fancy bin carriers are taking their place. No doubt the rear of the tractor is a great place for carrying heavy loads.
