I have seen some of chucks vids. Good kid. Definitely not your typical teen. I'm sure he will have a great future in whatever he does. Kudos to his parents.
Nice work. I am turning 15 my self in a month and a half. I have been doing a fair bit of welding, and also a lot of woodwork. Not many of us young guys with a shop set up at home. Lucky my dad has a wood shop that rivals my schools. Keep it up man.
Nice to hear that. I have put up a few pics of my work. If you look at learning to torch cut, there are some of my normal O/A cuts. I cant remember which thread, but I have some pictures of some pretty good 6011 stack of dimes beads. And I know I have some pics of my $160 welding table build from some salvage yard scrap and a costly piece of plate. Speaking of donations, thats how I have my DC stick welder. I am planning to go into diesel mechanics myself, bit better money, and less repetitive. I would love to get a pic of the wood shop up, it is full of vintage delta machines, and literaly a ton of vintage stanley tools. I am actually getting very good at bowl turning, planning to start selling them soon. If it goes well, I see a bigger lathe and eventually a 250 amp class mig coming out of it. I can see I have started rambling a bit, so I think I will stop here.Very well deereman75...
You an Chucke will be inheriting this earth when us old timers kick the
bucket and it's good to see a couple young bucks doin' it right.
I was given a work permit by the state of Arizona when I was 13.5 years
old. There wasn't much food around, I was willing to work so they let me
work. Yep, I have been paying taxes since 13.5. That work ethic served
me well, when I was 21 years old I was making $21.95 an hour PLUS
Benefits, I am now an old man at 53. DO the math...
You two guys are VERY smart, to be looking forward, and trying
to learn instead of trying to impress your friends smokin dope, hangin on
FB wasting time and other useless activities. You guys will be WAY ahead
of the game by learning from the INCREDIBLE talent / (the old timers herein )
So Deereman do you have access to a camera? Lets see some of your
handi work! Show & Tell kinda deal... how bout it? Wood, metal, or both!
If dad is OK with it (ASK DAD FIRST), pics of your shop too!
Just remember not to give out exact whereabout details. Here is one
of my ShowN'tells
Heck I needed some wood work not long ago, I needed some "discs' turned.
Ended up paying a gal to do it, I would have rather given one of you guys
the job. (I made a meteorite picker upper tool, it's pretty cool, the
Meteorite Men TV Show wanted me to send it to them to try on air, I
didn't want to do that, I still hope Geoff and his sidekick still come to
Calif some day. I don't want to be on the show, I want to see my tool
used during filming! ( I have a Sub Compact backhoe now Geoff if you fall
on this!)
(So long as were not HiJackin' Chucke's thread...? )
You OK w/ that Chucke?
PS, Chucke. yep, a freindly crowd, gettin ya all butter'd up good...Soon
they will be asking for "donations" and "dues" OK? hehe J/K guys... HA!
nice work chuck the more you weld the better you get, welding is a tool but fabrication is an art, I am a welder for the rail road, and fabricate everything that i cant afford the hardest was a 12" bucket for my backhoe
