Are they fairly easy to install? Guess since i'm out of warranty why not. Seems like everyone thats put one in loves it. Thanks for the info.

I think it takes a 6mm (just going from memory, may be a different size) Allen wrench and maybe 5 minutes to install. It took me about 15 minutes because I was all paranoid about doing something wrong, you know, like installing the valve upside down or something.

Thanks for posting Coobie. I didn't want to be out of line and imply that I was speaking for you. Like Coobie, I also believe it is the best money I spent on my RTV.

Well I installed the new valve. It works awesome, but you really have to use the brakes now. Its funny, on the slopes with the old valve it would stop without braking on a 45 degree no problem. Now it just frick'in rolls! I personally like the way it is now, stop just like a car.
I have one more question, can you use any udt transmission fluid as long as it's UDT?

Glad you like the valve. I drove a neighbor's new RTV he bought after seeing ours and literally did a freaking face plant into his windshield because I was used to the coast valve. After he finished laughing his rear off, he drove mine and promptly ordered a coast valve!

You know, I don't know on the UDT stuff. With my RTV900 and my Kubota 5030HSTC tractor it made a huge difference going to Super UDT from regular UDT. I haven't gotten but just past half way to the 50 hour scheduled maintenance with my RTV1100. I figured I'd bite the bullet and put the Super UDT in it too, but dang if that stuff isn't crazy expensive! Maybe someone else will know the answer to your question.

Update: When I put the valve in I thought cool, but the more I drive it it is really hard to switch gears. I've been having to shut it off to take it out of gear. Kind of having second thoughts. Maybe I got a bad one. I don't know. It wasn't this bad with the stock valve.

My shifting was just the exact opposite. Before the valve I bent my shifter trying to get in and out of gear. On an incline; forget it. I had to shut it off to change gears. I don't know what it may be. By allowing the freeweeling, it is taking the pressure off of the drivetrain. Pressure on the drivetrain is what Kubota told me was the cause of my shifter sticking; thus shutting it off to relieve pressure to get it to shift. Sorry. I don't know.

Well for the last year I've been looking at all the UTV's. Kinda focused on the
1*Polaris Ranger but they are so much money.
So I went to check out the new RVT 500 at the local kubota dealer. What a nice little machine. I really liked it. So I priced the 500 and all the other RTV's.
The 500 $8600 OTD. Then he says I've got a used 2006 900 camo for $6800. The 900 is in great shape. He said his buddy owned it an he ran a deer farm. Here's the kicker the 900 has 2000 hrs on it but it looks and runs great! A lot of my co workers have bought stuff there and said hes trust worthy. So is 2000 hrs on a machine too many hrs? He said his buddy always let it idle instead of shutting it off. Any opinions?
I'v never been around RTVs
We were visiting some friends last eve.
He had recently bought a new
Polaris Ranger.
Only had 57 miles on it.
He took us over some of his 150 acre farm in it.
What a machine.
Amazing the ditches hillsides and hollows that thing will traverse.
There was some pretty rough terrain we went over in that thing.

2*But then you'd be forced to bring up 3, 4 and 5 year old posts though. I dunno if I could take that....:D
:DI've been seeing a few 4 to 6 year old threads brought by up others lately but haven't noticed any comments by you about them.

I would consider a RTV900 with that many hours but only for about half that price. Maybe things are really different in your area, but an '06 RTV900 with 2000 hours on it is a $3000 to $3500 max machine.
Whats the difference between
ATVs
RTV's.
UTVs
*If I could run onto one that nice for that price, then I could post pics of my three Kubota's like LB does.;)
*If I was to acquire /obtain a kubota RTV I'd have to quit that cause then I'd have 4 Kubotas.
