Uh-huh, but I don't know anything about that block under the seat with the line coming out of it. Can y'all help? where would you start iffin it was you?

You're all very encouraging but then again I, am compleeeeetly ignorant. The very first thing I did was to lose the key. Haven't installed a new key switch yet...next week. I intend to start spot blasting and priming the rear axle etc and replace the rear brakes. Then do a proper 12v conversion. Does this seem a viable path or do I have things sideways? How would you start?

You should be able to just get a new set of keys.. pretty much all the same..

Paint comes after you make sure all the maintenance is done.. Like oils, cooling fluid, plugs, etc..

Thats most likely a single acting 'remote'. It allows you to use a hydraulic attachment off your PTO hydraulics..
