I am looking to buy a 54" tiller for my Kubota B3200. I am looking at Land Pride but saw a Priefert tiller at a local store for a lot le$$. Does anyone have experieince with the Priefert Tiller? Do they hold up?
Is it as durable? I've used Prefiert equipment before and it was built very well.
The Tarter company has been in business since 1945, I have had no complaints from customers on the various equipment we sell that comes from there. We feel it is a click above King Cutter. Ken Sweet
A question about the tillers you guys mention here. The King Kutter and Priefert tiller. Were are they made?
I was shopping for a tiller directly from china and come across this manufacturer, tiller - Detailed info for tiller, tiller, tiller, on Alibaba.com
Both these models mentioned looks quite the same as the China one. She sent me a manual and it looked as KK's manual.
The Chinese sails person claimed they supplies tillers to KK. My first thought was, "BS!". "They sell copy's"
But maybe i am wrong?
Really hard to get straight answers in this confusing modern world, but to the best of my knowledge, the gear boxes for rotary cutters are typically made in China. Further, KK does have, for all the look of it, a Chinese subsidiary or allow their designs to be built in China. It's unclear.
Where you are, you might wish to really inquire from knowledgeable people as to just what is being sold in your area and inquire as to its quality. Here in the US, if the price is substantially lower, it is a good bet it is made in China for low wages, and imported.
King Kutter tillers are made in Ohio, Tennessee, and Alabama. King Kutter doesn't make anything in china, period. They do use chinese made gearboxes as does everyone else in the industry. Chinese companies have been making tillers that are copies of the King Kutter, copying the operators manual and selling them in the states. You need to look at the serial number decal, and if you have questions, write down the serial number and call the King Kutter office in Alabama. They will tell you whether it is a genuine US made King Kutter tiller.
