Hello everyone,
I have decided to sell my ford 1920 tractor. I am quite fond of this teactor but I have a need for more loader capacity and would like both hydraulic remotes and a Third function valve. I have looked at the following factors,
Jd 4044m
Mf1742
Kubota mx5200
I have no brand loyalty just want to get the most for my money. I have made initial inquiries about each tractor. Jd wants $35k for the 4044m with two valves. Massey wants $30k for the 1742. And the kubota dealer wants $31k for the mx5200. The kubota is probably more tractor than I need but the price is attractive. I went there expecting to be shown some L series tractor, dealer pushed the mx, only $900 more than the L series. The jd has the least bells and whistles. The loader is fixed, telescoping 3pt links are extra.... Frankly I don't see how I will be persuaded to spend a premium for less tractor than all the others. The massey is similar in size to the jd but it is their premium line and had a few more features than the jd and the kubota. Jd has the best financing 0%72 months haven't run the numbers but not sure the financing will make enough difference. Kubota has the worst financing 4.7 for 84 months and massey is 4% for 84.
I use the tractor commercially for landscaping, grading, material handling and a variety of other personal uses. I would like to get a grapple and start doing more land clearing and more forestry related work so the larger kubota is appealing for that purpose but also a bit more awkward for working In a landscaping setting. The Massey has higher auxiliary hydraulic flow but seems smaller. I haven't elaborated much on how I am using the tactor but should I get the larger frame kubota or smaller framed mf with more creature comforts? Thanks for your input
