Well, havent been able to work on the tractor lately since ive been at my moms. Next weekend im gonna see if i can start it up.

I found out it is a fuel bowl with the part number as simplicity 2098414. I need help finding one to use. I tryed napa's site but it wouldnt respond. here is the diagram. Parts and Diagrams for Simplicity 2097353 - 9518, Compact Diesel Tractor, Turf Tires

72101342 (cup) is the part number you should be referencing. I just purchased one for my Simplicity 9518 from my local Massey Ferguson dealer. Was less than $10. Mine was gummed up with varnish and crap from running biodiesel. You can search for parts under the Allis Chalmers model 5015. Go to (w/ Internet Explorer; Guest account doesn't work with Firefox) : AGCO | Parts click on agcopartsbook.com link and sign in under guest user. You can view all the parts books for your tractor under Allis model 5015. Napa sells many common service parts for these tractors under Allis Chalmers 5015.

FIL 1210 hydraulic;FRAM PH4386 oil; FIL 3282 Fuel Filter. Try to reuse your glowplugs; they can only be purchased through AGCO/Massey and they are $70 each. Special size NGK plugs. Called NGK to find alternate dealers but none exist.

Make sure you put motor oil in your injector pump. Owners manual calls for 7 ounces; excess will spill into crankcase.

I have the owner's and parts manual that I downloaded for free from the Simplicity website under model 9518 in PDF format but they are too large to attach to TBN posts. 9.55 MB zipped.

I've been using amsoil SAE 30/10-30 synthetic in my 5015 because it can be used all year especially in New England winters. No need to go to 10 weight or 20-20W as indicated in owner's manual. AMSOIL - Synthetic 10W-30/SAE 30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (ACD)

Hey thanks, that is very helpful. It is also nice to know there is someone else outthere with a 9518. One question, does yours have R3 or R1 tires on it? 4wd?

I have the Agriculture deep lug tires on front and back. Back tires have the 8x18 rims loaded. Mine is 4WD.

Thats cool. Still been waiting to get mine started. I have high hopes for this tractor and when I get it running and driving around, I want to replace the R3 tires with R4s for better traction. I would get R1s but the rims would better fit an R4. That and it would look really cool with R4s anyway. Hopefully going to start it this spring. It will be nice to have 2 tractors to play with.

Got to work on my tractor this weekend. First thing i did was rotate the muffler upward, to make it look more like a tractor. It was sideways since the previous owner probably used it to mow under trees. Then I removed the belly mower brackets and part of the assembly on the front. Removing these made it look even more like a tractor than a lawn mower. Then I checked out the bearing for the PTO. It was perfectly fine. I straitend out the plate that attaches to the fenders and tranny case with my Dad's 3720. I also found an area that looks like i can make a plate that goes up, out, and up again to attach to the ROPS system I got off the neighbor's burned tractor. From the looks of it, I may be able to start my simplicity soon. Im having my dad get some ethur, a new starter, and a battery so we can try and start it up. once its running, then I can work on the cosmetics.

Tried to start up my simplicity last night. I'm thinking that since the fuel lines are plugged and currently off the tractor, that the engine wasn't getting enough Diesel to start the tractor. My dad got a battery for my tractor but it was too wide to fit on my tractor, so he is going to order a new one. It really wanted to start up last night so today we are going to blow out the lines with the air compressor to see if we can start it up. I also removed some more parts for the MMM that was on it long ago. On the Oil filter, I also noticed that it hasn't been changed since 1994! :shocked: Pictures coming soon.

Got the lines blown out. Tried to start up the tractor, but it wouldnt fire. Sprayed ethur in it and everything, but it didnt fire. My Dad is going to hire a Diesel Mechanic to look at it and determine the problem so we can fix it. So in the mean time, Ive been working on the ROPS system for the tractor. I pulled the tractor outside and used the 3720 to hold up the ROPS so I could measure some things. I think the tractor looked pretty good with the ROPS. I temporarly put the left fender back on and the distance between the posts for the ROPS was perfect. Today, my grandpa and I went out in the shop and made a bracket that attaches to the tranny for the ROPS rather than sitting on the fenders. It is made with 1/4 steel. It attaches behind the top link for the 3 point and goes up, through the back plate, to the ROPS mount. I cant wait to go back to my Dad's to install my ROPS! in return for all the help my dad has given me, I greased his tractor and lawn mower yesterday morning. The tractor was pretty dry. i also greased the steering on the Simplicity. Also, I removed some more mower stuff from the tractor. Now I have a small pile of Mower assembly for the tractor that i have no use for. It was miserable removing all of it so I dont plan on ever putting it back on.
