Check fan for trans.
Is there anything I need to pay real attention to ? I've read about the sudden stops with the hydro on these, mostly in reverse.
As long as you know about the abrupt stop in reverse, plastic body parts and for sure good fan your probably good to go. Woods work can be really bad for that fan which is a big deal so body pans/protection will probably be necessary and even then a small stick can get in the smallest opening which is needed for cooling. Mowing deck if left on in woods can help protect fan but can create it's own issues.

I did a search on the fan issues, that will be the first thing I check Monday morning and something i could repair myself. If it is busted which is highly likely, maybe I will have a little negotiation advantage. The plastic, unless someone locally was parting out same unit I seriously doubt I'd ever find a replacement parts.
I'm pretty good at haggling so if the tractor checks out mechanically as in engine, 4wd, trans etc I'm dragging it home. Thanks for all the comments, hopefully I'll post a pic of the rig on the trailer Monday !

Replacing the hood and headlight with new would add more value than the cost of the parts if you can buy the unit for the listed price. Buying a hydro fan if needed is not expensive at all. Some BX models require a fair amount of labor to affect that repair.

What year model is it?
Unless you find something mechanically wrong you better jump on this. I've been internet pricing different models now for 2 months and I can probably find you a dozen or more of these for $10k +.
Good luck.

I have a BX2350 in about the same condition. About 900 hours when I bought it, every panel and every light broken, everything that says "do not step" has been stepped on and ruined.

I bought it cheap, and it runs great. Never had a mechanical issue, it was just that the panels were weak and got damaged (and they probably let the apprentice drive it).

Tests I can think off:
- Look at the fan
- stand on the brakes and on the go pedal. In high it should be able to stall out the motor I believe, otherwise HST is slipping. In low if it should spin the wheels if it's hitched to an immovable object
- my mower deck had been pretty abused, needed a few things welded up. Dealer should do that for you if you notice them, so worth looking under the deck and around it for cracks etc

Well I put it on the trailer, It's a little rough but I have been looking for months and am tired of looking. Seems every tractor in my area with a FEL is $9k or more and I'm always too late if a good deal pops up. I managed to buy it for $4820.00 plus tax $5147. 00 and got two hats as well. The deck has a new belt and blades I also got a new plastic grass shroud for the deck, old one was busted off. Everything mechanical seems to work just fine, and the all important fan doesn't even have a nick on it. Only bad so far are the cosmetics. The hood side covers headlight assembly all cracked up. Right headlight still works as does left rear marker light both lens assemblies are gone. I'm going to do a full service, oil, fuel hydro filters etc. Then search for plastic parts. I attached bunch of photos. Thanks for all the advice Cheers

Best wishes. There are two fuel filters, one between the tank and electric pump and one between the electric pump and injection pump. Same part number for each.
