I agree with earlier posters about renting a good size ride on for 1500 feet. When we put power line and water line to my house (1800 feet, with 2 different trenches, and power here had to be 48" deep), I found a local yard irrigation company that trenched, backfilled, and helped put in conduit and water lines for not a lot more than I could have rented the equipment for.
They also backfilled the trenches with the front blade, which they could angle on one of the trenchers, and did it a whole lot quicker than I could have with the loader or box blade on my tractor.
