What do you use for cultivating your garden

What the deep rip does, is to let the water soak in and not run off causing erosion,--plus making ground more open down deep so roots can go down to moisture !--its kinda like a holding tank for your ground. also lets air down to the deep rooted plants growing on top!--also lets the ground freeze out deeper and kills more bugs/disease/etc.
I pull this 1-shank JD (antique sub soiler) with the Allis 190 xt diesel tractor---gives it a good load in hard ground too!!

Wow. Any subsoilers around here (never had the chance to use one ) go around 18" down. I couldn't even imagine ripping 3' deep

kf4uda: I am assuming that the row width is fixed when using the AC-G because the rear wheels can not be adjusted? How far do you space, for instance, your corn rows for the AC-G? Not like a Farmall Super C where the rear wheels can be adjusted? I am led to believe that the corn rows for the Super C can be as narrow as 28 inches.

Sonny580: How do you include your pictures into a thread. The attachment method forces you to view one picture, then you have to reverse the process to see the next one when there are multiple views.

I'm pretty sure I've got the same model antique subsoiler you have. Mine has a similar paint job to yours but, I seem to remember some green paint clinging in a few places. Is it an Oliver or a Deere?

As for cultivating the rows, I use this

Which is a model "G" Allis Chalmers.

Talk about being able to see what you are doing.

Doc!--- photo-bucket is just a picture host and you upload your pics. to them, (or any other pic. host---there are several hosts out there ,--Image shack is another one we use)
then you copy the IMG link,then go to your post and do a paste.--the link will then be in your thread and should load the pics after you hit the submit button! thanks; sonny580
