Kubota B3300SU with 4 in1 FEL - Australia
Model Year: 2011
I bought this used last year's B3300 with only 8 hours from a dealer that was selling it in commission. The previous owner had bought a 100 acre property and needed something larger. I am on a 10 acre hobby farm, undulating country, we keep horses. This tractor replaces a 1987 Iseki TX2160HST (2WD) of 16HP that I bought in 1994 and that served me extremely well but needed more and more maintenance to keep going. I use the tractor an average of 100 hours yearly. When I saw this B3300 at 1/3 of the list price with only 8 hours, I bought it right away. I am very happy with it. It handles all my existing implements (including a Caroni 59" rear finish mower) with ease. What is to be expected given it's more than twice the HP of the Iseki. If there is one single thing that I do not like and I will never like and find hard to live with, it it this silly so called 1/4" valve. It is very hard to control. The old Iseki had position control, and it is so much easier to do things like grading with position control. I looked into converting, but it is too much work and parts. I guess I will just have to put up with. Have optimized all adjustments there are, even replaced the two 3pl lever end stop screws with adjustable lever handles. It was already difficult to get the "quarter inching" to work as designed, but even when all is optimally adjusted, position control is 10x easier and quicker to use. That said, I really love this Kubota for all other feature it has. I did read there are vibration problems with the engine. Yes, above 2200 rpm I can see how some people could get numb feet from these high frequency vibrations. I am not really disturbed by it. To me its about like riding a vintage motorbike, not something unpleasant. I guess it is a matter of cost, Kubota also manufactures 4 cylinder engines with balancer shafts to reduce vibrations, but this is after all a basic utility tractor and I would not have been able to afford it if it had all bells and whistles. It came with ag tires. Initially, I would have wanted industrial tires, because I do a fair bit of mowing around the house. But so far, I am glad I have ag tires. After all it's a yard and not a golf course. And this tractor is very light, so on one hand it does need all traction it can get, on the other hand it still does not do too much damage on turf even with ag tires. -Chris
