L2800 Kubota
Kubota L2800DT with FEL
Model Year: 2004

Great tractor and meets all my needs perfectly. My only gripe is the 3-point hitch can be jerky when raising.

Pros: Well built, good power, easy to maintain.
Cons: Jerky 3 point hitch.

L2800 Kubota
Tough Midsize Tractor
Model Year: 2010

My L2800DT is just the right size. Not too large and not too small for my needs. I have about 3 acres to mow with a finish mower and about a 1/2 acre that I garden. Fuel consumption is great. I have the front loader option and I use it instead of a wheel barrow. I have the gear version. The hydro-stat version seems under powered to me. I have cleared trees and brush with no problems. I would not hesitate to buy again. I highly recommend!

Pros: Fuel efficient, lots of power, lot of options. 4 wheel drive, power steering, front end loader
Cons: The paint seems to fade quickly when left out in the sun.

L2800 Kubota
Kubota with Loader
Model Year: 2004

Had a small Yanmar and I was pushing the limit of what the tractor would do. I began looking for a 4WD tractor with a loader. I looked at several different tractors and one of the things that led me to Kubota was the reputation. The L2800 I purchased has performed flawlessly and so far done everything I have asked it to do. Kubota makes a great tractor.

Pros: Front end loader, 4WD.
Cons: None so far.

L2800 Kubota
Great Machine
Model Year: 2006

I have been known to tell my friends that my tractor thinks it's a bulldozer! Seriously though, the power this mid sized tractor has is incredible. In 4WD, it can push anything (it seems). You can tell by the hours that I haven't used the tractor as much as some, but the times I have used it, I really put it to the test. It passed every time. I used it to clear some property I owned, to work at my parents property, and my own homestead(s). The last few years I haven't used it near as much due to the fact we bought a smaller place (2 acres) and I really don't have the need for it now. I have contemplated selling it a few times but I can't seem to let it go. literally the best machine I have ever owned, of any kind. I will just keep it as a large powered wheel barrow if I must. Can't part with it. I highly recommend the hydro tranny. Very convenient.

Pros: Power, power, more power.
Cons: None.

L2800 Kubota
L2800 w/LA524 FEL
Model Year: 2010

I bought used from an individual and it had 4 hours on it. I currently have about 70 hours on it and it has performed well within the limits on implements set up in the manual. One flaw is the jumpy hydraulics as noted by many users on the forum. Even that is somewhat compensated for when using most implements and having the tractor at work level RPMs. It is most notable at idle, but I compensate for it. If I was designing it I would have done the parking brake differently and in a more convenient place instead of having to lean down and push a little lever down by the brake. I have mowed, bush hogged, plowed, and used a box blade. I would buy it again.

Pros: Works well within limitations. Seems to be fuel efficient.
Cons: Jumpy hydraulics. Awkward parking brake activation.

L2800 Kubota
So Excited!
Model Year: 2005

I been wanting a tractor of my own all my life! I always used John Deere and Farmall Cubs as a young boy and adult. I first bought a JD790 from a dealership it had to be returned because the dealer sold me a damaged tractor with unacceptable repairs. After months of frustration meeting with people mostly dealers who flat out lie and cover up problems trying to see tractors with issues I finally found this little orange gem! It had nearly everything I wanted in a tractor: 4x4 hydro FEL backhoe bush hog low hours and nearly perfect paint and tires. I'm very excited with this tractor. It's an older model and has less hp with the hydro, but honestly I don't see it as being an issue. In 4x4 mode this thing locks down to the ground and simply pushes hard! It's an L series so it's heavier than the B series and that just adds to stability and performance. I use a 6 ft. brush hog and I mean "brush hog" because I cut sapplings 2 inches round and 16 feet high with no issues! The back hoe is a BH75 and is simply amazing! The backhoe comes off very easy! Three point is a bit to put back on but that's no big deal as I'm getting faster at it. It's a joy to drive with cruise control and power steering. I thought I would hate where the FEL controls are located different from the John Deere I was use to barrowing but it won't long before that was a non-issue. I would say pound for pound this tractor is a great fit! My plan will be to use it digging ditches for underground wiring on electrical jobs, bush hogging and I hope to start building a plug aerator of my own design soon!

Pros: Small enough to get in there and still strong enough to do the job!
Cons: Wish the backhoe had an extendahoe version!

L2800 Kubota
Great Mid-Size Tractor
Model Year: 2005

I purchased this tractor Kubota L-2800 HST new in '05 and have not had a single issue with it. It seems I use it quite often but amazes me that I only have 380 hrs. on it. I maintain a 1/2 mile road base road for my neighbors and I twice a year, have built and maintained several other roads on my property, built a shooting range on the property with it and cleared acres of brush. Now I'm looking for a backhoe and auger for it.

Pros: Sturdy, dependable, economical.
Cons: Found none.

My review is very premature as I just bought it. It's based mostly on hearsay. However it appears to be a tough little bugger.

Pros: Reputation.
Cons: Some hydraulic leaks.

L2800 Kubota
Kubota L2800DT
Model Year: 2011

Before purchasing, the Kubota L2800DT seemed to be the size tractor I needed to maintain the house and land we had just purchased. I especially wanted a gear driven vs. hydro-static as there are hills on the property. Since then I have found that I was correct. So far it has performed every task with ease from finish mowing to bush hogging. I have yet to try it with the 4ft tiller I just purchased, but I expect it to perform with the same ease as the other two implements. I have used the front end loader to unload the implements from the back of a pickup truck and 18-wheeler. Great tractor so far.

Pros: Gear driven, easy operation, good instructive manual.
Cons: Haven't found one yet.

Love My Tractor
Model Year: 2008

I bought this to help in building my shop and to bush hog my 11 acres. I have always wanted a tractor and when we bought my property and built a new home, it gave me the opportunity to purchase it. I have had no problems with this tractor and it has performed as needed. I also use a tiller and a box blade.

Pros: No problems at all.
Cons: None.

Kubota L2800
Model Year: 2006

Just bought this 2006 Kubota L2800 week before last. So far so good! Have not used it much though. I also bought a new model 500 Howser mower. I just attached it to the three point hitch last Monday just to practice. Still have not finished the final installation. The tractor seemed to be able to handle the 5' mower well, although I felt that it needs a little weight in the front.

Pros: Economical, manageable, strong enough.
Cons: Jerky 3 pt. hitch.

Kubota L2800 HST
Model Year: 2006

Nice compact tractor. Well built. I have owned it for about 6 years and the only problem that I experienced is the FEL and P/S were jerky. I discovered after reading threads that a hose that feeds that pump splits and causes a suction problem. I checked it out and that was the caused. I just replaced the hose and all works fine.

Pros: Nice unit; well built.
Cons: No rear remote hydraulics.

No Problems
Model Year: 2009

I have not had any problems with it, I use it to move rocks and haul firewood. It is a pleasure to drive. I just did a 50 hour myself, it was very easy and the dealer was very helpful.

Pros: Easy to operate.
Cons: Would like to see remote on it from factory.

L2800 Kubota
New Owner Pleased with Kubota L2800
Model Year: 2007

I was looking for a one of the 7000 series tractors and found a lightly used L2800. It included a FEL, brush hog and tiller. The rear tires are the wider 15" ones and liquid filled. This is the first experience I have had with a front end loader and was very pleased that I didn't get the smaller tractor. I was surprised how easy it was to spin the rear tires, even with the extra weight of the liquid filled tires. There does tend to be a bit of vibration in the FEL that seems a bit odd at times and feels like one of the hydraulic valves is leaking, but it always works well. I only have 7 acres, but I continue to find more and more uses for the L2800. It has not had its first service yet and I need to do that in the next month or so, but so far, I am impressed with the quality of the machine.

Pros: Quite, reliable.
Cons: Seems too heavy for general lawn work and too small for some field work.

Man, What's This Thing Made of?
Model Year: 2008

I bought my tractor to clean and maintain 6.5 acres of land. Land had lots of roots from trees that were removed and in need of leveling high and lows throughout the entire property, tractor has worked prefect for my needs. Only problem I have had is the cable for the PTO needed adjusting.

Pros: Automatic & 4WD.
Cons: None.

Kubota L2800 4wd
Model Year: 2006

Work horse. Use front loader all the time. Shuttle shift 4sp Manual trans is much easier than a manual JD. 4wd makes excavation work and box blade work 2x as easy. Very pleased. No repairs to date. Only fluid changes and greasings.

Pros: Too many to list.
Cons: None.

L2800 Kubota
Reliable
Model Year: 2010

Have graded with standard and box blades. Bush hog regularly with 6 foot unit. Recently picked up 5ft finish mower. Use rear slip/pond scoop regularly. Boom pole and carry all work as well. No problems at all. HST is perfect for my hilly acreage especially when mowing. Graduated from a 1939 Ford 9N. Still have it but haven't even cranked in 6 months. No comparison as expected. No FEL or BH and don't miss 'em. Could use an auger.

Pros: Simple to use and maintain, HST perfect for my use.
Cons: No 12 volt outlet, easily installed though.

L2800 Kubota
L2800 HST
Model Year: 2009

Bought this unit with the loader and Kubota BH76 backhoe as a replacement for a smaller Cub Cadet unit and have been extremely well pleased. With 3 years on it, have had a couple of issues that were a little disappointing. I "use" this tractor, maintaining a property with a pond and numerous trees. The backhoe cylinders began to lose strength and would sag with the unit off. The servicing dealer (not the purchase dealer) was resistant to do anything for me and took over 7 weeks to even evaluate. When I finally went to pick it up in frustration, they agreed to replace the bucket cylinder but not the arm lift cylinder. The unit also had a return fuel line leak that lead to diesel pouring down the side of the fuel tank. That was a result of a loose clamp on the fuel return. Other than those issues, the L2800 has been a workhorse and a pleasure to have around.

Pros: Engine, performance.
Cons: Hydraulics, specifically cyclinders.

L2800 Kubota
Excellent Tractor - Would Buy All Over Again
Model Year: 2010

My Kubota is 4WD with a front end loader. I use the front end loader now instead of my wheel barrow. I opted for the gear version as it has more hp on the PTO. I haven't regretted anything. It has handled everything that I have thrown at it. Not too big or too small - it's just right for what I need. It is very easy to operate - my wife even uses it working in the yard. The layout of the controls make feel natural to operate. I use it for gardening, landscaping, mowing grass (don't need the lawnmower anymore) and bushoging.

Pros: 4WD; Loader; User Friendly; Comfortable Seat; Low Fuel Consumption.
Cons: None that I ran across.
