Interesting thread. That light weight grapple sure looks just like what I'm hoping to find. I have a 35hp tractor that I'm shopping around for a loader and a grapple to put on it.

The quick attach system has no interest to me, so being able to attach it to the loader with pins would be my only option. One idea that I haven't seen yet is to provide the pins, but allow me to weld them on where they would fit.

Thank you,
Eddie

Eddie if you dont have a "loader" yet, then why not get the QA style attachment when you get the loader.

How is the assembly going? I am interested in what you come up with, and would be interested in purchasing a Millionzi type grapple with universal quick attach for my New Holland T2220.

Thanks,

Ken Brouwer

We are coming along nicely, I got the final two Cad drawings finished yesterday, and look to continue the construstion this week, we hope to have eveything finalized Friday so we can start the testing, Now the office is closed Monday for Labor day. We hope to take out son to Hillsville camping in a cabin, but we are not sure what will happen.

Thank you Ken, I love tent camping, and so does my son, but Allen is a modern day man, he likes the comforts of a hotel, I try to teach Avery that there is more to life and having a good time, then spending money. And God has created so much for us to take advantage of that sometimes we all get caught up in just surviving we forget to just breath.

I might, but from what I'm seeing, it's more weight and expense. The loader will have one goal for it's existance, to pick up sticks. Other then making it easier to buy, is there any other advantage to the QA system when I will never remove the grapple?

If picking up sticks is really the only use then think about getting a claw type grapple rather than a traditional root grapple. Having the top jaw the same size as the bottom jaw is great for picking up small items. The traditional grapple has other advantages like in digging up roots or rocks but for sticks the claw rules. WRLong is a great source for the claw style but be careful as they somewhat underrate their grapples by lift capacity. Unless you are talking a very powerful loader then the lighter duty clamshell should be perfect.

The only reason to ponder the QA from my perspective would be future flexibility. Will you consider adding forks, a bucket or a tree boom or just a skid steer adapter plate with some novel tool welded on the front? If so then there is a rationale for QA but otherwise the pin mount is the way to go. It would also probably be easier to sell a tractor with a QA mount than one with just a grapple but that assumes you might trade in/up etc.

Since we are sharing our bucket mount preferences, I will share mine. I chose the Quick Attach mount because it what was on the tractor that I wanted! It was really not a deal breaker but I liked the idea of standards across equipment which in turn gives us more choice and the likeliehood of something actually fitting when I buy it. It doesn't hurt that my father has a nice Bobcat auger attachment that should work (well?) on my tractor. I look forward to down pressure when digging post holes! Oh yeah and he has some (a little too heavy) pallet forks I might have to borrow as well.

Looking forward to seeing the final grapple product!!

Nope. More weight and more money.
Not necessary if you're never gonna switch. I don't have one and I've yet to switch my bucket out to put something else on. I am building a set of forks for it though...might get them done and actually switch something up front for a change.:)

Hey Melissa!! Glad you made it over to TBN from my favorite company! I don't know if you remember but I bought a toothbar and a grapple at the same time. . . .gosh, must've been a year and a half ago now! I love them both! I think that you coming on here and posting this thread is really high-class professionalism at its best!

Oh, I don't think you ever used the photos I emailed you of my new "toys" in action on the website like you said you may. Don't worry, I won't ask for royalties!;) Here are some different ones:

Thank you Chuck!
