I am building a front end loader for my Kubota tractor and I need some advice on which control valves to use.

As I am also building a 4 in 1 bucket I will need an additional double acting valve to control the open & close of the bucket.

Currently I am looking at 2 joystick valves from Surplus Center (9-7401 & 9-4782) but I am unsure about which valve to choose for the bucket.

Idealy I would like one that bolts directly to the joystick valve forming a single 3 spool block, but I cant figure out from their catalogue which ones would be suitable.

If anybody has some advice on which valve to choose and which of the 2 joystick valves would be best, I would appreciate it.

Also feel free to pass on any other perls of wisdom that you think might help with my project.

Cheers

Surplus Center also sells the Prince stack valves. You can buy 3 work
sections and get a joystick for 2 of them. The 3rd spool can be your
4 in 1 control. Also get the power beyond option. I bought this valve
with 4 sections for my homebuilt mini-excavator.

If you go ahead with building a 4 in 1 bkt, post pix. I have decided to buy
rather than build a 4 in 1 for my Kioti.

Thanks dfkrug.

I have also posted this question over on the build it yourself forum, as I thought I put it in the wrong place.

A 4in1 bucket here is about 4K, I can build one for less than 1K + cylinders

Thanks for your reply, and I will do pictures.

Ouch! That hurts, Rohan.

I just got a quotation for a new WRLong 60" 4n1 and it was $1734, but
it will top $2500 with tax and shipping from the East. You got it heaps
worse down under, apparently. I am hoping to snap a used one and adapt it.
I could build one, but I have too many projects at the moment.

Yeah, I could probably get a second hand one if I hunted around, but given the rest is home made, then I should do the bucket as well, so that it's exactly as I want it.

Hydraulics are another thing that are expensive here. They probably aren't too bad at trade price, but given I don't buy this stuff every day, the prices I'm being quoted are way too expensive.

With the Australian doller being strong at the moment, it is more economical to import stuff from Surplus Center than to buy it locally here.
