I believe you are correct in your observations. If I remember correctly (and I may not) I believe this thread started down hill with the implication John Deere owners are lemmings...Not sure what being a Ford owner makes me...

I agree with FWJ.. I believe it took a dive when an individual stated that there simply was no better machine built than one with a JD tag on it... the very statement, due to it's absolute nature, ignoring any chance for an exception.. begs to be wrong.. even if just on a statistical level... let alone reality.. and the fact that the issue is a subjective one in many case.. and not an objective one.. IE.. not quantifiable .. etc.

I believe that comment is what sparked the 'lemmings' comment. I agree with that line of thinking as well. Blind acceptance without acknowledging the possibility of any exception is akin to a lemming mentality used in this context.. etc.

Actually.. past experience has show that your profile is not sufficient info in many cases. Lots of times geographical location and property size are taken into account during tractor and equipment discussions.
