Kubota BX 24
I went to attach a landscape rake to my BX 24 for the first time last night. After what was a pretty smooth and straight forward 3pt hitch installation, I went to attach the implement to the tractor. I noticed the distinct absence of a 3/4" pin on the top link and 2- 1/2" retaining pins of some kind on the bottom posts of the implement. It seems odd to me that neither the tractor or the implement would have included the pins necessary to actually mount it to the tractor.

Is this common or did either Kubota or TSC short me 3 pins?

These you have to provide yourself. The top pin is only a few bucks. The retaining pins are cheap and they do wear out. But several for spares.

Even though those pins are consumable, i am also surprised the attachment did not come with a set included. The guy that sold the rake to you should have thought of this...

Are you talking about lynch pins?

As jdsafeman said, buy lots of these, they will get lost (or you will fling them very very far away when they snap back on your finger) Always good to have a few in your tool kit...!

That looks like the retaining pins I need for the 2 bottom posts - Lynch pins. The top pin is a more substantial pin (about 3/4" diameter) that goes through the top link and will also have a retaining lynch pin to keep the implement attached.

I am very surprised that these 3 items are not included with the tractor or the implement. No problem to buy them but seems like they would be included since the implement can not be attached without them.

Anyway, it will be easy enough to get them at TSC. I just wanted to make sure that they are not typically included with implements and that they were just left out. Thanks for the help.

Yeah. I agree. I doubt they'd be supplied with the tractor but definitely they should have been supplied with the rake OR the salesperson should have had the foresight to ask you if you needed a set and throw them in for free if you needed them.
A real pita to be at home when you realised that you needed these pins. I hate when that happens.
Some bean counter probably figured a way to save a few bucks by leaving out the pins...

Those tactics are getting more popular though. I set about buying a new mobile phone recently and only after i had paid and was leaving the shop that I realised it didnt come with a charger, that was an optional accessory.....? WHAT?????

Needless to say I got a refund.

The big top pin came with the 3 pt kit for my BX24. I don't have any 3 pt attachments yet but I use that pin to mount the BXpanded sprayer which uses the trailer hitch hole on the bottom and the top link pin up top.

Sound like TSC shorted you 3 pins.
My experience was the 3pt hitch came with all pins necessary to attach it to the tractor and the implement with the pins to attached it to the hitch.

So your BX came with 2 big 3/4" pins for the top link? ONe to attach it to the tractor and 1 to attach the link to the implement? I had only the one necessary to connect to the tractor.
My box that contained all the parts for my 3 pt hitch is a formed box with a slot for each component. There were no empty slots that would make me think that something was missing.

Well, I got what I needed and it was only about $5 with extra pins as suggested. Luckily I went to set it up last weekend for use later this week and next weekend. Had I waited until time to use it I would have been pretty steamed.
