Egon, until or unless I suddenly get a craving to eat worms I will probably not be harvesting many, electrically or otherwise. My catfish are really easy to catch with an inch or so of artificial plastic worm on the hook.

When making pickles this summer I used a lime solution to crisp up the cukes. When I poured the used solution on the ground I noticed worms popping out the ground. The first time this happened I was wondering if it was the extra water in the solution since the ground was already satuated with rain. And it was raining when I was pouring.
The second batch of lime brought the worms to the surface so me thinks its the caustic nature of the solution. Twas good to see the mulch I put down was working.
Not quite sure how we went from a guy getting ambushed in his barn, shot in the hand, to shocking people, fish and now worms....

Pat, those worms were to used for fishing. Buy a magneto or plans for one and become rich harvesting fishing worms!

I read the story about this before you posted it. I found it interesting that the local police did not believe charges would be filed against the girls father. Not only do I think charges should not be filed against the father. I think the father should be given an amount of money equal to 1/2 of what the expense of locking the perpetrator up for the rest of his life would cost as a reward for getting this guy off of the street permanently.
Since the father basically strangled the guy is he going to have to have his arm surgically removed now or will he be able just to license it as a deadly weapon. ?

Hey.. now that is a neat thought... financial reward if you save society money when you 'off' a dangerous criminal inthe commission of his crime...
( unfortunately.. while I like the idea.. I bet it might lead to vigilanties crusing around 'looking' for crime.. to cash in on it.. etc.. )

Funny how he gets famous in your part of the world, though most Dutch have forgotten him, or only remembered him as "that provocating idiot that died the way we expected" Maybe its because he preferred the American ideology ???
About the guns, i have already placed some statements on both sides of the gun posession discussion... I remain undecided, and certainly Theo van Gogh's death wont change my opinion....
The predecessing murder, the murder on Pim Fortuyn (which was the first political murder in Holland since WW2) is much more significant, because Pim Fortuyn was murdered because someone didnt agree with his political points of view and feared the influence of this newcomer.
Theo van Gogh was murdered because he disrespectfully and repeatedly insulted peoples religion, not for any gain but out of populism and racism. It doesnt justify the murder, but he sorta asked for it.
