palmettobrush,

Are you trying the new carbide cutters from Gyro Trac or something different?

Gyro is offering carbide teeth now or very soon the production is gonna drop allot tho I have both the Cimaf with the planar teeth and a Fecon with Carbides and the Cimaf out cuts it 2to1. I attribute 90% of that to the teeth and the other 10 to the variable displacement motor

we have been running cemaf teeth but now im trying out an off brand too and have almost seventy hours on the teeth in the sand

I know you guys do not like the carbide tools but how do you think those planier teeth will last up here in my neighborhood? I am afraid that they would not make it to lunch on Monday.

cbturf how well is your carbide tooling holding up in that environment? I was thinking about using the FAE's viper teeth on my FAE, but rocks and worse yet the scrap metal that lurks like land mines no matter how much you look for it make me reconsider.

My opinion : a front-mount, whether with carbide hammers or cutting knives, is not the solution to all problems. Where there's a lot of rocks, the excavator is probably the best option in terms of cost of operation (better visibility, better control on what the head's doing).

And again, in my opinion, if you look for a brushcutter that's also a rock crusher, you'll probably end up with a tool that is under-productive at each job.

Palmettobrush, regarding the off-brand tools, considering the enormous amount of money we've spent on developing the technology, we're having our patents lawyers considering legal actions against businesses copying the general design of our teeth. Patent infringement is no small deal.

If you want to see the technology continue to evolve, buy your teeth from DENIS CIMAF. Not from people who live on everyone else's ideas...

300-500 hours depending on how many times I hit the ground.
I am paid by the acre and I must cover at least 5-6 acres per day to make what I want to. Excavators have their place but they will not be productive enough for my current contracts. I am thinning juniper trees and they are about 10 feet tall and 15 feet wide. You guys know that I have tried them all and for me the best machine combo will be one steel track crawler and one rubber tire machine.

I would think you would not want to make any more ground contact then you could help. The limestone around here is not to bad on carbide teeth but half buried car frame or engine heads are another matter. I try not to find that stuff with the carbide head if I can help it. The fail shredder is a little more economical and forgiving for scrap iron mining.A big rubber tire machine I would think would be the choice I try. Rocks like that are going to be hard on tires, track pin/bushing,teeth and ankles when you have walk back to the truck.
