Well I finally bought a 5' King Kutter rear blade with offset and tilt, 90% of the use will be for winter snow work and then the occasional light grading of a few gravel paths. Went with the King Kutter because the price was right (compared to the frontier and others) and like I said mostly snow work, so I don't need a heavy duty blade. I work for ConnDOT so by the time I get home from plowing the roads my driveway will really need some attention. Went with the offset so that way I don't have to get the tires close to a couple drainage ditches next to the driveway as I'm plowing and risk getting stuck. I special ordered it from my local Tractor Supply and picked it up Thursday night after work. Today was the first chance I had to rig it up and attempt to test it out, I had the tractor out for about 30 seconds and it started pouring(just my luck). It has since cleared up so I played around and decided to take some pics to share with you guys. Hope you like.

Looks good, but I can't see, what is offset? is the whole frame built slightly offset to the right/passenger side, that would make it easier to get in close. You should be all set with the 4x4 but if you think you might want tire chains, let me know I found surplus chains in our area for a fraction of usual price.
I use my 6' rear blade exclussivly for snow work, mostly pushing backwards but some pulling forwards. I put extra weight on mine to help when driving forward, back dragging blade over gravel or pulling forward thru plow packed driveway aprons, that's where it really shines.

As far as grading with a rear blade goes, it must take alot of practice, as every time I tried it I ended up making a mess, IMO a box or a rake is much easier.

I wished I had a way to power angle it, so when I got an old western plow for free I figured I'd try it on the 3PT, have to wait for some snow to try it.
JB,

JB thanks for the info on the tire chains, I'm going to see how it does the first couple of storms then decide if I need/want chains for it. The blade offsets up to 12" left or right, all you do it loosen up the 2 bolts on the back of the blade and slide the blade down the "track" how ever far you want to offset. Simply tighten them back up once it is in the position you want and your good to go. These 2 bolts also control the tilt of the blade, tilts up to 35degrees I believe.

hey guys, just had to take a sec and put in my 2 cents worth, about the king kutter blades. JUNK!!!!!!!! i bought 7 ft model last year and used it twice, before it bent. i was back blading a round pen, and i have 2 x 12 boards, at the bottom to hold the sand in the round pen. i was blading backward, which i know is always harder on the blade, and just skimmed the face of one of the boards, and bent the blade considerably. what amazed me is it barely scuffed the board, but yet bent the blade. i know that king kutter is economy grade equipment for the most part, but geez, shouldnt they take a little more abuse than that? i am going to take a pic of the bent blade and send it to king kutter, along with a letter, expressing my disappointment and aggravation, about spending my hard earned money on equipment i had hoped to last, at least more that a week. anyway, thanks for letting me vent a little, and good luck with your new equipment......

I have been looking at rear blades and settled on this King Kutter Blade King Kutter Incorporated

It differs some in design from yours but includes the offset feature as well.

I have that same model blade but 84" wide. It's a well made unit for the $$ IMO. I've not used the offset but the tilt is very handy. It allowed me to work on the edge of my crowned county road to make a turnout for my mailbox.

That blade is also my snow removal tool. For that job I'd like to add a hydraulic cylinder to change the blade angle.
