Same price per gallon delivered or picked up here far as i know .
At least I'v never been offered a discount for coming in to get it.

Here in Texas, I have a brand new 1,040 sq ft 3/2 house on 68 acres and I just received my property tax bill last week. The house was appraised at $60,000 and with my ag exemptions, my total property tax bill for the year is just under $1,500.

I honestly don't know how you guys do it in the New England area. You seem to pay way more then the rest of us, but I can't belive that your standard of living is any better. For $200,000 you can have a very , VERY nice home here. For $300,000 you can have an AMAZING home. My brother just looked at 42 acres of mostly pasture with two half acre pond and a 1,700 sq ft, older 1970's fixer upper home for an asking price of $139,00

Eddie you also have to remember your taxes are subsidize by the oil industrial in Texas also!

That is not the only place that has high taxes. My wife and I brought our place and got taxes reduced. Taxes because taxes are based on selling price. We bought at 220K 10 acres, house, pole barn, and out building. Taxes reduced to $2800. We are a mile from Lake Superior on a hill, but no lake view. Our taxes go up roughly $100 a year just cleaning up our place.

Now we did have a ranch style house with 2 acres outside Milwaukee and the last year there taxes were $3800 in 2004!!! Mind you that was in a 70s built subdivision too!

If we move I will buy in WV. We owned a new house with walkout basement on a 1/3rd acre. Our taxes were $240 a year. That included the property tax on our two new vehicles too!

I don't think I'm likely to move to WV, but my wife's from there and still has 3 brothers and a sister there, and you're sure right about the property taxes. I don't know how they get by with such cheap property taxes.

My regular gas station is $2.12 for regular and $2.99 for diesel. BJs is 2.03 but they are on the other side of town. It is taking forever to get below 2 here.

Yesterday, I noticed one station at $1.869 and across the street was one at $1.879, but Quick Trip and Walmart are $1.839.

Schools were not the greatest IMHO. They tax your vehicles I know to make up for taxes. We lived there 3 years. We lived in Randolf County. Randolf had the lowest crime rate of any county in the nation at the time.

I do have to say the people there impressed me the most. When you need something or help a neighbor was there.

Most of Tyler is at $1.88 for Regular. We filled Steph's car for under $30!!!! Lindale, which is right off I-20 and above Tyler has Regular for $1.84.

I just got home from a 10 day log cabin makeover in Colorado. Paid 3.19 for diesel in Colorado yesterday A.M. and my last fill up yesterday in Flagstaff, AZ. was 2.59. Wow what a cheap price for diesel.

By the way, when I left Glenwood Springs yesterday morning it was 14 degrees, I drove for 11 1/2 hours and it was 78 degrees here. Its good to be home.
