Just for information..

The wix 51365 is the same as the Mobil 1-108 and the Wix 51356 is just a longer version of the 51365 (2.577" vs 3.402" - the threads and gasket dimensions are the same).. The filters are what most subarus, hondas, my jd 2320, and a ton of other vehicles use..

I could careless where the filter is made....But that begin said I bought an oil filter 2 months ago for $3.50 at AZ...Kubota filters are overpriced.

This doesn't surprise me. This filter runs in a higher pressure environment and should be subject to a very high quality control standard.

Since there are no readily available substitutes, it's comforting to know that this proprietary filter may be held to a higher standard.

I think the transmission filter is on the intake side of the pump, so it actually will have a little vacuum in it because of the pressure drop the pump is creating. I am assuming it is a flooded suction, so the vacuum is very slight. I really haven't studied the whole hydraulic system yet, but if its designed like I see in the mill the filters are really never on the high pressure side of the pump, to dangerous and costly. I can't see that flimsy filter cartridge taking 1750 psi of pressure, it just won't hold up.

Sadly most people feel this way about most items purchased these days...The overall feeling is what ever is cheapest...Personally I go out of my way to Not buy Anything made in china....Just my strongly felt .02

I agree and for the most part any filter would probably do a good job at 'normal' service intervals.. BUT after reading various internet posting on filter construction (or actually how bad some filters are made) I will spend that extra money for a better filter...

I ran Fram on an old compact pickup for years and it is still on the road - knowing what i know now I would not do it again, just because for the same money I can buy a better built filter..

I am running Mobil 1-110 on my wifes Subaru and the JD Tractor - I am paying around $10 for them but I do like the idea of the synthetic filter material and the Mobil 1 filters have always scored in the top 3 in the construction quality..

I do purchase cheap stuff (ie harbor freight) on things that dont get used very often - but fuel filters is not an area that I now cut cost on..

To each there own on everything, but that is just my thoughts..

I'm not catching your point.

Willl....my point around this is I have NEVER seen a quality product produced in China yet. Also, from a economic perspective to much of our American money, and debt is going to China right now, and I am actually sick of seeing it happen.

Just curious as to why ?

Willl, Shmudda pretty much summed up what I was going to write...And yes I feel that strong about it.
