Haven't seen anything regarding B26's lately

After I wrote this I realized the thread was about the B26 not the B2620. Anyway I decided to post it anyway as the content may be of interest to some..

I've only had my B2620 for about 3 weeks. Unfortunately I have only been able to put 7 hours on it so it's not possible to thoroughly assess the machine. I will say that the FEL mounts seem to be less ridgid that the BX it replaced. They seem to wobble sideways with each turn. In fact I wonder if I were to accidentally hit a tree while turning would the FEL arms turn into pretzels. B2620 fit and finish seem poorer than on my 4-5 year old BX. The seal between front grill and main body is open and sloppy. The welds seem less smooth and paint in spots is rough. I don't like the plastic at all but time will tell if it can stand up. Engine seems a little rough at less than half throttle. I hope that will smooth after the break in period. The FEL doesn't operate as quickly as the Kubota specs claim. It takes longer to raise lower and dump than the specs claim. I like the cruise control, the big deck and the 3 range HST. As I put the new Krusty to the test I'll be telling more. Don't get me wrong... I'm not saying I am giving thumbs down on my new machine. These are just early observations. After I've moved a couple hundred tons of material I'll have a better idea what to think of the B2620. The BX 1800 was a hard act to follow... it was an amazing machine.

We purchased our B26 at the end of 2007. We were held up on easements for a long time but completed our purchase of 28 plus acres on a local mountain. We began working our B26 vigorously after our land purchase. We cleared most of our home site and have been working on an 800 foot drive way through the woods and down the mountain. We have removed many trees and root systems, huge rocks and small alike, cleaned large piles of debris from previous bulldozer action. We had pushed our tractor to its limits with some failures. We lost a FEL hydraulic line while back hoeing, the upper two FEL cylinders began to leak and one of the cylinders was internally scored on the back hoe stabilizer. All were quickly remedied by my dealer. We performed the 50 hour service changing both engine and hydraulic fluid and filters. I am very satisfied with the B26 performance which has exceeded all my expectations. We have used it as it was intended acquiring many scratches and a few dents on the hood. I have documented much of our Terra Dome earth shelter home project at Terra-Dome Earth Shelter Home Project - Machine Underground -Tractor & Commercial Equipment Discussion Forum I will attach a few photos.

I enjoy photography and savor the journey. It's easy to spend you time wishing or wanting to be at your destination or dream. I try not to dwell on the future. I believe it is extremely important to live in the present while identifying the successful and unsuccessful attempts. I also believe there is no failure but only repeated attempts at success. I make time for my photography and can't help but notice room for improvements in both theory and application. I would have liked to keep our tractor all shinny and new but the work implied many cosmetic risks which I got over quickly as I seen the results. I do agree that the operation is quite exciting and fulfilling.

Well said words and I agree. I love viewing others pictures and enjoy them. It is people like yourself that keep people like myself coming back all the time to view others pictures of their equipment and projects. I commend you and all the others that do the postings.

I hate to complain about anything with my b-26 as it is a great machine, but if there is anything I would change it would be the foot control for the thumb. I wish it were mounted on the joystick levers like some of the larger machines. My foot control seem's to stick on in either position and does not want return back to center without some help which is awkward. My dealer say's there is nothing to adjust or lubricate because of it's design and that it should get better with time. I was wondering if anyone has this same problem and if there is a solution as mine seem's to be getting worse with time.
Thank's
Chase

I've had mine about a month - 20 hours on engine. I bought it to clean up after hurricane Ike and a tornado that knocked down 2/3's of my 100+ year old trees. I'm in love with it - it's a workhorse. I have noticed the hydraulic oil got very hot the one day I ran it all day long - hard to put hand on FEL cylinders. I talked to dealer service and they recommended changing the hydraulic filter as it might be restricting oil flow. I had to order filter so I'll have to get back to ya'll with the results. Has anyone else noticed this with their tractor? Otherwise I think it's a fine machine.

How many hours are on your B26 Sam Walton? The reason I ask is you are pretty forgiving considering your machine is only 1 year old. If it has 2000 hard hours on it I'd be forgiving too but if it has 200 hours I'd be really disappointed with the performance.
