Strewth Eddie , how much can a Koala Bear ?

Ive never seen a deer in the wild but i have heard there are some out Glen Innes way , about 100 miles West of here .

Jim , i may have misled you about our rainfall . We are on a coastal fringe , the guys out west are doing it hard . The trees chase the dogs out there .

Our weather IS pretty mild , i get sooky if i have to put on a jumper in winter .

We have just seen a DVD on your extreme weather , it's just hard to believe . Snow , ice , Torneado's it's a tribute to the mettle you guys and gals are made of .

Great find Tom , that does make it simple and strong , i may try that in my next life .


I look at my new excavator with the Vertical Tree extraction grab and think , how easy it could have been if i had it ealier . That house frame would have been up in a day .

That attachment on your excavator is sweet. I want one, well two, the excavator and the attachment. You didn't have to do any other digging to get that tree out??? That is a big tree to just rip out of the ground.

Since you have the attachment I think I see a guest house or maybe an addition in your future???

She was very sceptical at first but now sees that it earns $1500 a day when it is working and it is getting popular now . When people see me pulling out a couple of hundred trees in a day it does not take long for them too see the savings that can be made with this method . There were only 22 ever made so i have no competition in my area .

Thank you , i am 1 hour from the Nymboida Nat Park . It's funny , when people come to visit they get a smile on thier face when they walk in . They say the house gives them a welcome hug as they come through the door .

No extra digging , just push forward to break the roots and then pull back and up at the same time . It literally is as fast as hand pulling weeds from the garden .

I'm planing on an elevated walk out off the verandah with a hexagonal BBQ area on the end . It will be about 20' off the ground .

Not a bad days work. How much fuel do you use in a days work? How many days a week are you working with it? Can't beat that for a job, get to use a huge piece of equipment to rip trees out of the ground. I don't think I can phonetically type Tim Allen's grunting from Tool Time, but that is what I am doing right now.

Tororider , This is a stand of trees that had to be taken down for a housing development this week . There were about a thousand trees , ranging from saplings to full grown Gums . I started pulling trees with the excavator on Tuesday and laying them neatly behind me . Tuesday afternoon all but the big Gums where on the ground . Wednesday , i picked up all the smaller trees and stacked them in a long winrow for burning with the tractor and grapple . Wednesday after lunch , i dug around the big Gums and pushed them over as they were way to big to pull out . Thursday i cut all the logs that i could salvage , stacked the stumps for later removal and created another winrow . Then i had to fill all the enormous holes i had left . Thursday evening i track rolled the area with the excavator and was finished . The developers will arrange for the burning and removal of stumps . The excavator used 40 US gallons and the tractor around 20 US gallons . I am averaging about 2.5 days per week at the moment .

Wow, cool work. What do you do with the lumber? How long does it take to switch the tree puller out and put the bucket on?

It only takes a couple of minutes to change it over as it is a hydraulic quick hitch . Any logs recovered are the property of the land owner .
