Is this acceptable quality on a brand new Kubota?

It may not and certainly is not a Rolex or any of the other brands, it is a KUBOTA a brand built on a strong reputation of quality. Bet if you asked Kubota top dogs (do they have top dogs in Japan?) who makes the best tractor with the best quality and such there is only one brand they would speak and it would be KUBOTA. So folks let them live up to it.

Now if you really get to ask them and they tell you say JD or NH or Case please let me know.

Tractor should have never went out the door with that loader on it.

Bearing in mind that its a tractor designed for work, about the only thing i see wrong is that the wheels should have been touched up during pre delivery inspection. Its more of a cosmetic thing really. I dont think you will receive nor is it worth a replacement rim. If the rim was physically damaged (Ie: bent)in some way then definitely you should receive a replacement.

As far as the welds go, while they dont look like a neat row of dimes layed on their side, its probably a very sound weld. I am a little surprised as they look like hand stick welds and i expected to see machine or mig welds. The spatter should have been ground off before final paint as well. It probably was missed in the factory. If it really bugs you, you could grind the spot and touch it up yourself as it wouldnt really be that hard of a job. I would be surprised if the actual manufacturer of the loader and guard was Kubota and not outsourced either local or overseas.

I think its sad to think that this passed quality control. Take a look at the big machines excavators dozers and the like and they would not accept that quality of welding. I wouldnt either... Express your dissatisfaction to all that you can. I would be unhappy about the paint scratches, but I would eventually get over it.

Those welds sure aren't pretty! Not what I would expect of Kubota but, I could easily live with it. The scratched rims don't seem to come close to warranting replacement, to me. I would expect touch up paint and if one was really particular, to have the dealer get it done.
What would tick me off is, the same salesman that gladly accepted my money, not getting back to me. I'm guessing you spent plenty and you should be happy.

After reading these posts and reading how so many people seem to think it's no big deal it's no wonder why the quality is going down hill, most people don't care.
Why should Kubota care, why should the welder care, he is the one that made the pile of metal slop, he didn't care, his boss didn't care, and most people these days don't care.
That is what's wrong today no one takes any pride in what they do. The welder that made the mess probably said to himself I have three more to weld and I'm outta here.
The quality sucks because most of the people buying the tractors don't care if they did care the quality control would be better.
But the big deal about this thread is all of the loaders are not like this one most are very good WHY should this guy who does care about his tractor live with it. When most of you wouldn't mind having it.
I wonder what a vote on who cares what the weld looks like would be. I would bet that most people on this site don't care as long as it works.
That and That alone is why the quality control has gone to **** NO one really cares.
If there is a vote put me down as one who cares about having a quality build look to my tractor. verses the neighbor welded it behind the barn look, who cares
Vote and just see what happens.

Waxman, you nailed it......

Nobody cares anymore and I'm sick of it....I could go into a long rant about this on about a thousand different topics, but a few off the top of my head is that I do care about the welds on my new very expensive yard toy, I care about having scratches on my brand new wheels that busted my *** at work all these years to pay for, I care about making my house payment and not buying more then I can afford and wait for a bail out, I care about the way my truck looks going down the road and the way my lawn stripes, and how my tools are lined up above my workbench, I care about my customers, I care about the quality of my work and I refuse to put out an inferior product....I expect the same in return and I didn't get it.

I have not gotten a response to the last e-mail I sent to my dealer over 24 hrs ago.

A simple "I working on it" would do.......

maybe he doesn't care either and hopes I just go away......

At a farm show, the Kubota rep said they do read these forums. As mentioned before, the only way to send a clear message is to purchase products from other vendors. Given that quality levels have seemed to drop as time goes on for all products, I don't see Kubota changing anything if it does not affect their bottom line.

I know how you feel. My tractor had scratched paint on the wheels and where the loader was attached. Not a huge deal but if they would have done things the correct way the scratches could have been avoided. Those welds look like crap:eek: and it would bother me also. Take it back and try get a different loader.

Good luck!
