Is that an Elmira Stoveworks stove? When we were going for the country farmhouse look I was strongly considering getting one of those. Unfortunately dinner for me will probably be pretty simple until I can dig my grill out from the snow...

I heard that the price of Lobsters was in steep decline right now and that they were selling for less than $2 a pound. (wholesale?) :)

I'm going to start checking out the stores for some and fix 'em up Cajun style. :p

When I first saw the pic of the stove I thought you had a Findlay Oval like mine -- then I figured it's a Heartlands. After all if it was an original in N.S it should be something like an Enterprise Fawcett:eek:
Got any more of them "canners" to send up? -- I'll trade ya some cheese curds and maple syrup:p
Regards
Steve

As the old saying goes, Egon, that's eatin' high on the hog. I haven't had lobster in awhile, but if prices are coming down, I guess I need to check on that.

Blueriver, we had our daughters, their husbands, and our grandson here yesterday. And a big pot of homemade chili that I made was what we had yesterday.

Scotty, I actually like those Cajun crawfish better than Maine lobster myself. Thirty-five years ago when we first went to Louisiana and had the crawfish, you couldn't find them to buy in this part of the country, but now we have quite a number of places that serve them, and actually do a good job of fixing them right.

But tonight? We just got back from the Dairy Queen where I had a DQ Dude.:D

GOL DANG THAT look good, but being an old retired guy i can;t afford such fancy eatins,so if you could send a few this way would be greatly appreciated:):D

Add the homemade bread, with real butter and a tall cool class of milk .... and I would almost, with almost being the key word, just let him keep the lobster ... Bird start your fire its coming again, 31 degrees just a 120 mile from you!!!!

Love that stove Egon, but the microwave doesn't quite fit your signature! Sure looks tasty, be sure to post a shot of the empty shells. Hope there's some melted butter around there somewhere.

It's already down to 35 here and forecast to be 25 tonight and 17 tomorrow night. But so far 55 Christmas Eve and 66 Christmas Day, so that sounds good.

I usually make cornbread to go with the chili, but you know what all the younguns wanted was frito chili pie, so I even had that myself yesterday for a change.:D

The Stove is a "Heartlands".
The microwave is much older than the stove!:D

The price of Lobster is down this year. Ours were ordered from a local fisherman.:D

Dang... we are on a December diet of white beans and cornbread... property taxes paid on 5 December and son's college tuition paid on 12 December for next spring... Not much money left!

Back in October when Vin and Mary Dowd visited from South Australia, they gave us five thick ribeye steaks. It seems they had stopped at a small butcher shop somewhere and bought the steaks, thinking we'd have time to fix them while they were here. It didn't work out that way and they thought the steaks would ruin if kept much longer. That's why we ended up with them.

Well, we cooked two of them right away, but froze the remaining three steaks. On Saturday night, we grilled up the remaining steaks and had them with a big baked potato, salad, and sourdough bread. YUM! There's nothing quite as good as a free steak from an Aussie.:D:D:D Thanks Vin and Mary!
