Ok, Here is what I found out. first off I found out the is wasn't fuse two, it was fuse 6 second from the end on the right hand side. I then went to check all the warning lights. The PTO waring light was competely missing. I need to order one in the next day or so. When I put one of the other ones in the spot it was on. That helped.
I Then took off the PTO switch and tested it. It tested ok but I put a jumper in anyways. At this point the tractor started right up.
My question, is there any adjustment on for the PTO switch or do I need to order a new one of these as well?
Thanks for everyones input.
Bob

You should be able to adjust the switch. Should be a bolt and nut adjustment where switch is located. Adjust bolt to turn light off while PTO lever is in off position.

Wow! There's something fishy going on with your instrument panel lights if they work off of fuse #6. They are supposed to work off of fuse #4. Fuse #6 is a 10 amp fuse for hazard flashers. I just rechecked my schematic and repair manual. I think you will find your blown fuse #6 is not related.

Now to your PTO switch. . . . The switch is not adjustable, but the lever that engages it has a bolt in it that is adjustable. Reinstall the switch and then put the PTO lever in the OFF position. If the light remains on, adjust the bolt in the end of the lever down until it causes the switch to open and the light to go out. The lever should depress the switch only when it is in the OFF position and it should release the switch button as soon as you move the lever about 1/2" toward the engage position or less, maybe even as little as 1/4". You just want to make sure you have positive switch opening when the lever is moved to OFF. The adjustment can be easiest to make from the back of the tractor in my opinion, but you may find it easier from underneath.

BTW: We are talking about the main PTO lever (rear 540 pto) on the left fender, right? We are not talking about the mid-pto lever.

Fuse 6 was unrelated. I didnt have an owners manual, so I didn't know what we were calling fuse 2. Fuse 6 is 2nd from the passenger side.
The rubber coating is worn off of the REAR PTO switch per haps I should replace it while I have it apart.
Another interesting thing I found while working on the tractor. My foot deck under my floor mat is rusting pretty bad and not just surface rust. I didn't live in a wet place so you guys that do may wnat to take a look at your.

I have heard mention of ordering parts online, where do you guys recommend? My nearest dealer is 2 hours away.
I need the pto switch, the upper radiator hose, and the dash light holder.
Thanks again
Bob

I agree with Bob. Messick's is the place for online parts. You can look it up in their parts database or call them on the phone if you can't locate your part.
