Hydro pedals

Never heard this debate before, I've had both and prefer the 2 pedal. Don't think I'd pay thousand$ to change them though, I would learn to accept it the way it is.

Rather have my foot resting on a solid platform than a rocking pedal, had an old Bolens that didn't have a foot rest at all, just an over sized rocker pedal/rest. That took some getting use to!

Interesting. I nearly NEVER have my whole foot on the rocker. I have my toe on the forward part and the heal on the deck for forward jobs. I have my heal on the back part and my toes on the deck for reverse jobs. Nice and comfortable that way and I have size 11-1/2 boots too.

On some VERY short forward backward loader jobs I have used the whole foot on the rocker, but that is rare.

Maybe likes and dislikes are also shaded by operator technique?

I've got one of each kind, and I find the rocker (front pedal goes forward, rear pedal goes backward) to be more intuitively obvious to me, i.e., I'm less likely to hit the wrong pedal. That being said, the Kubota with the rocker (really two pedals connected to a rocker under the operator deck) was my first tractor, and the JD with two pedals side-by-side is new.

All of the Power-Tracs have the left/right setup. Left foot rev, and right foot fwd, or were you talking about the left/right pedal on the same side?

Deere uses two pedals side-by-side under the right foot. Left pedal forward, right pedal reverse.

My buddy has foot damage and can't rock backwards to engage reverse.
Welded a 1/2" pipe union and he screws in a lenght so that he hand operates the fwd/rev.
Works for him.

I just recently purchased a MF 23hp tractor. Was wondering if you can take the hydro foot pedal. and have it made to side by side forward and reverse instead of the current toe and heal pedal

If this is a 1500 series (1523??) you may can find the parts you need from MF. I don't know about the smaller 1500's, but the 1533, 1547 and 1552 at least have changed to a side by side pedal arrangement.

The parts to change (if they will even fit) might be expensive, but I don't think they would be as much as quoted here for a one off fab job. Another consideration would be the holes in the floorboard would be in different places, but that is what the torch or plasma cutter is for:D

I don't want to add fuel to a smoldering fire, but I have to agree with hoogy on preferring the side by side pedals. Other brands may have a better layout, (and I have not tried any others) but the Massey rocker pedals seemed awkward to me (on a test drive only, haven't worked with one). Forward is fine, reverse was hard to get my heal on. I agree the rocker makes more sense.

The Rocker is causing or inflamed my foot to the point where I haven't been able to use my BX23 for over 6 weeks.

Turns out I have a heel spur that I never knew I had or that ever gave me any problems... I never had any foot issues what so ever until I spent about 20 hours moving dirt over the course of 3 days...

The Rocker just happens to hit my heel spur when I press down to go in reverse...
