I have now priced out a 6' Land Pride and 6' KK. There is a $2700 diff. Is the LP really that much better, or is it better? I have been told they both have 6 tines on each gang. What do you think?

No. It's not worth more money. The King Kutter is gear driven, which most people feel, is a stouter design than a chain drive tiller, which the LP probably is.

I know the King Kutter tiller has 6 tines b/c that's pretty easy to find on their website, b/c they only have two series of tillers. Both of which have 6 tines. Land Pride on the other hand has several different series.... most of the ones I looked at it said 4 tines... so you might want to double check that.

The King Kutter tiller is better AND less expensive. Pretty easy decision if you ask me.

Check out the CCM tillers, all gear with very good prices.CCM Gear Drive Rotary Tillers Shipping is less these days. I would guess that you could get their best heaviest tiller for less than the Land Pride tiller. I am a big fan of Land Pride, but I think that the tillers that CCM sells are as good or better for a better price.

Couldn't you use a bigger one with that new tractor that you are going to get?

Just my opinion

Thanks MtnViewRanch but getting back to the question of KK & LP. Every person has to make the decision based on their situation. KK tillers are close to 50% of all the new tillers sold in the USA. Most of those KK customers use their tillers 4 hours or less a year. So at that rate the KK tillers will rust out before they wear out. KK has changed the tiller market in the USA.

The LP does offer some features the KK does not have. I comes down to why did you purchase the brand of tractor you have?

Is the MR190 the comprable to the KK 72"? The KK is selling for $1800 here. It is just like anything else, value for the dollar. I'm not into buying cheap stuff, but I also don't need to spend money on overpriced stuff either.

We have one MR190 left for $1800, the 2008 price. The CCM is powder painted, the KK is dipped. MR190 does have adjustable hitch blocks and the KK mounts on pins. To tell you the truth I'm tired and it is late at night but the value is in the eye of the beholder.

Sounds like a very good price to me, I am still thinking that you should be getting an SR-210 84" at the minimum. But then we still don't know what you will be pulling it with?

Well, lets just see then. Don't know much about either one. Like Mark and has been helpful to me in the past on numerous issues, I have purchased from him in the past and was very smooth, no problems. Put the CCM and KK on the ground next to each other today and run, will the ground look any different? What condition will they both be in 10 yrs from now, and who is likley to be around to provide parts and service info...my guess is Mark. Agreed?
So, Mark...will send you pm.
thanks.
