Kubota BX2230
I posted this over in the hydraulics forum but didn't get any responses so I thought that I might have better luck in the Kubota forum.

I am contemplating adding rear remotes to my BX2230 to "trick it out" a little bit. I would like a TNT arrangement to make my life easier with hooking up and adjusting implements such as my box blade. Am also considering a bolt on grapple sometime soon and thought that this may be a way to power them (by running hoses from the rear to the FEL).

I ran across a rear remotes setup on ebay for a BX24 or BX25 and am wondering what it would take get the necessary plumbing to the back of my machine in order to use this setup. I know that posting links to ebay auctions is a no no on here but the item number is 170298681796 if you want to look it up. Any thoughts on the effort involved in getting the plumbing setup to the rear of my BX2230 to make this work or would I be better off going down another path?

Thanks - Eightpoint

I don't have your answer. However, I have an 1830 and am thinking of adding rear remotes to it as well. I suspect our tractors are almost identical, so I'm going to watch this thread closely.

Please keep us updated on whatever you decide to do.

EightPoint,

IMO, that is a terrible price for that hack job. You could save yourself a few hundred bucks by buying the valves from surplus center and the rest of it from a hardware store.. It looks like this guy didn't use much more than a hacksaw and a cresent wrench to put it all together. Tha valve looks like a 2 spool Eaton cessna which sells for $200, so he is charging $450 for some all-thread and scrap metal..

I've been looking into adding remotes and tnt to my bx22 and figure the whole thing including the tnt (have to do some welding) would run around $600. That is a 3 spool, 3 cylinder system. I would suspect that getting the pulmbing done wouldn't be too tough for a bx2230. If the pumps are the same for all bx22 series, you'd just have to run lines to the proper ports.

Rear remotes are also on my wish list. I bookmarked this thread by actionaj a while ago for when I pull the trigger. Kubota makes a dual rear remote kit for the BXxx50 / BX24 series. I would think this kit or a similar one is available for the 2230. You could check with a local dealer. This kit plumbs into the hydraulic block on the transmission.

From post 25 in the linked thread:

"The valve kit part# for the 1830 is BX7322 and it mounts to the ROPS. Also you have to order a hose kit and the hose kits depend on what other options you aready have on your tractor. The hose kit part#s are BX7323, BX7324 and BX7325. You chose just one depending if you have a loader or not."

So, it looks like a similar setup is available for the BXxx30 series.

Does the BX loader valves have a power beyond capability?

I'm sure it does, but not familiar with those tractors.

I've been given great advice rom Kenny in hydraulics, Seek him out in hydraulic forums.

I just installed a "rear loop" similiar to a back hoe feed for the purpose of a log splitter. SIMPLE and Substanially less than the dealer... Nice thing is I can use those lines to feed.. this valve (link below) so in the spring I can add rear remotes.

I actually spoke to the dealer yesterday. The bota vavle kit is $600 for my 7510.

Burden Sales Surplus Center Item Detail

this one less than $200 plus a few bucks for the lines...

Good luck...

"so he is charging $450 for some all-thread and scrap metal.."

Not saying this is a great deal one way or the other but I will say that by the time you add in the power beyond plug for the valve, fittings, quick couplers (I see about 5 sets), a toplink cylinder, hoses and factoring in the engineering/assembly/testing time it doesn't take long to add up. The bracket may not be anything great but the videos in the ebay link show that the valve is in a pretty convenient location. There isn't a whole lot of real estate on these BXs so you have to make due with what you got.

Thanks - didn't see that thread. Anyone know what the valve and hose kit that is mentioned goes for?

Not sure about the loader valve and whether it has power beyond or not. Need to look into that and see if I could tap in there.

I just looked at it because I was very curious about what you wrote...And I have to say that I agree 100%! That bracket setup is a complete joke! And those hoses are destined to get torn off...

I'm just saying that you should take a look around.. Search BX and remotes and you will see some decent setups, and most of the time some instruction on how they installed them.

The prices do add up, but no where near as fast as that guys did. Like I said $600 for a 3 spool remote and tnt, you just have to shop around a bit and take advice from some people that have done it before. Even if you can't do some of the fabrication yourself, ask around and you may be able to swing a deal with somebody that can.

"And those hoses are destined to get torn off..."

Not sure I get this. What is it about the location of these hoses that are so much more prone to being torn off than most other setups? The hoses need slack in order to allow the toplink to travel. They aren't sticking out of the side of the tractor. Unless you back into a pile of brush allowing them to get snagged by a limb or something I don't see what the concern is. But I am trying to learn so I may be missing something.
