Are there any places online I can get a power beyond kit for my 95 Bota 2100HST, or is this something available only from a Kubota dealer? My local dealer is kind of far away.

If you know the mfg of the valve and the numbers on it, you should be able to pick it up.

Call Messick's for online sales...And they are a site sponsor.

You are already using it with your loader valve. You could T off of it for other uses.

Art, surley you know you can NOT Tee high pressure hydraulic lines?

Thanks guys. My Kubota has 2 taps for hydralics. One is for the loader (already used), and the other is for the power beyond option. I'll check out Messicks.

Typically on the Kubota's that I've looked at, they go "Pump, loader, PB to a block with Relief valve, 3pt hitch"

The "power beyond option" you mentioned, is that the plugs in the back of the tractor? If so, those are called remotes.

Just wondering if we are having a problem with "hydraulic speak"?

Its very possible we're having problems with hydraulic speak, seeing as how I can't even spell it correctly. I got the term power beyond from 2 guys at work who have JD's. One said it was a kit he purchased which gave him two hydraulic connects for the back. The other said his tractor came with it.
I was able to get a parts breakdown from TractorSmart and there are two places which a small block goes on. One towords the front for the loader and another in the rear. Right now the rear has a blank over it. I believe the part number is 6C040-95100 for the block which taps in for the rear hydraulics, but I'm not sure.
If they are indeed called remotes, I've been using the wrong hydraulic speak and talking to the wrong people. I'm assuming the kit will consist of a couple of hoses, QD's and the block to tap off the hydraulics?
Thanks again for the help.

Spaceman,
Here is a very quick and dirty explanation of the two and the differences. Also, if you tell us what you are trying to do with them we can further advise what you need/want.

PowerBeyond (PB):
This is a connection, usually at the rear of the tractor for powering implements with their own valves, like logsplitters and backhoes. This connection consists of two hoses-one is pressure/flow from the pump, and the other is a return to the sump or 3PH in most cases. There is flow in these hoses whenever the tractor is running, so they must be connected together anytime the tractor is running-hence the term "power beyond loop". There is NO valve or control on the tractor to control the flow.

Remote:
This is a connection at the rear usually, that IS controlled by a lever, it's use to most often control DA (dual acting) hydraulic cylinders on implements like blades for angling, or on the 3HP for controlling a TnT setup (Top and Tilt). One remote constists of one lever, and two QD's (quick disconnects) to plug into.

Hope this helps clear up some confusion...

Space,

It sounds like you would like to add some rear hydraulic remotes to your tractor. You do indeed plumb them in by connecting to a power beyond port. As you are still learning about it, you may want to go to the kubota dealer and ask for the kit that is needed to add the remotes. You will have to decide how many (1, 2, or 3). The $$ may dictate that for you. They are not even in the same zip code as cheap. When people do it themselves, they often spend 500 to 1000, depending on what they are putting in and how it is plumbed and how nice of a job. Naturally, more skills and experience often lead to lower costs.

If that seems high, you should know that people learning as they go have been known to spend more than the dealer kit cost.

Hope that helps a bit!

Thanks Guys, you sure cleared up a lot of unknowns for me. I'm somewhat knowledgeable in fluid flows, pressures, and tubing. I work with gas pressures up to 14,000 psig and various fluid types up to 6000 psig. My job is testing hardware for the space program, hence the moniker, Spaceman. Just not sure of all the details and terms for tractors.
Kenny, I guess I want a combination of PB and remotes, so now that you've cleared up the difference, I'll have to dream up a setup with a couple of two way valves. I don't have anything like a log splitter at the moment, but hope to in the future. In the near future, I would like to get a hydraulic top link that I can adjust depending on the implement.
John, you are so right regarding people who spend more learning as they go. I taught myself to fly RC airplanes and I gotta tell ya, that was expensive!
Thanks again for all the advice. I have much more to think about now.

You know what would be nice? If somebody would make a video of how to install PB/Rear remotes. Kind of like the everythingattachments web site. They have some videos on how to install and operate some items and if you don't know how it's a big help!

PS, I think it would be a great idea if you would like to demo on a B7800 w/402 loader and rear remotes :D

There are just to many machines and different setups to do that...

If you want to bring your tractor to MD and a digital video camera I will do it for you;)

Just did some research on the cost of a PB kit. $650.00!! Think I'll do some work on my own. Who makes a good spool valve and what type should I buy?

surplus supply is a good place to start.

That was for a "rear remote" kit or the "power beyond" kit?

What is the flow rate (GPM) for your machine? There are a few good choices available depending on the size you need.

Also do a search for the term "remote" for hours of reading on this subject.

That was the cost of the block to pick up the hydraulic in the back ($85), the hoses ($170) and the valve kit ($385). I believe my GPM is just under 5.

The best valve for 5 GPM or under IMHO is this Eaton/Cessna compact valve due to it's physical size.

OK, more newbie questions. I've decided I want to put in two spool valves using the same connection ports to the hydraulics in the back. One in the back near the ROPS so I can have it close by for a hydraulic adjustable link, and another one on the loader frame to supply QD couplers on the front for future projects such as a grapple or angle plow hanging off the bucket.

1. Do I need some kind of flow splitter? It seems if both valves are open center, neither would work because flow would be going through them simultaneously unless both (not likely) are in use.
2. How does the PB port work on these spool valves? Looking at the valve schematics, it appears they are just a tap off the outlet/return line?
3. Because making and breaking the connections at the QD's can introduce dirt and such into the hydraulic system which the hydro also uses, would it be a good idea to put a filter on the return line?

Thanks for your patience
